Simple plan, not to scale.
The Villa Park seating plan has three open stands in 2026/27, because the North Stand is closed while it is rebuilt. The ground holds 36,887 people this season. The Holte End, behind the south goal, is the home end. The Trinity Road and Doug Ellis stands run along the touchlines, and away fans sit in the north-east corner.
Every game at the ground is on the Villa Park tickets page, and the Aston Villa tickets page shows how each one is being sold.
How does the Villa Park seating plan work?
The Villa Park seating plan works by stand, then tier, then block, then seat. Villa Park is the home of Aston Villa, a Premier League club, in Aston, Birmingham, B6 6HE. It opened in 1897 and stands about 2.2 miles from Birmingham city centre.
A stand is one side of the ground, a tier is one layer of seats, and a block is a numbered section. The club’s 2026/27 plan colours every block by price zone, from Zone 1, the dearest, to Zone 4.
The Premier League Handbook for 2026/27 gives the capacity as 36,887. You may see higher numbers online, and the club’s travel page still says up to 42,000, because those count the North Stand. The club expects more than 50,000 once the new stand opens.
What are the stands at Villa Park?
Villa Park has four stands, and three of them are open in 2026/27. This table shows where each one is, who sits there and which price zones it holds.
| Stand | Where it is | Blocks | Who sits there | Price zones |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Holte End | Behind the south goal, in two tiers | L1 to L8 below, K1 to K7 above | Home fans, with the most vocal support | Zone 2 behind the goal, Zone 3 in K2 and K6, Zone 4 at the ends and front rows |
| Trinity Road Stand | West touchline, the main stand, in three tiers with executive boxes | B blocks below the boxes, A blocks above | Home fans, with the Family Zone at the north end. The tunnel and directors’ box are here | Zone 1 in the centre (A4, A5), Zone 2 around it, Zone 4 in the Family Zone |
| Doug Ellis Stand | East touchline, in two tiers with boxes between them | M blocks below, P blocks above | Home fans, with away fans in the north-east corner | Zone 1 in the middle of the upper tier (P5 to P7), Zone 2 elsewhere |
| North Stand | Behind the north goal | None on sale | Nobody in 2026/27 | New seats due for 2027/28 |
How do you read the block letters at Villa Park?
Villa Park block letters tell you the stand and the tier. L is the lower Holte End and K the upper Holte End. B is the lower Trinity Road Stand and A the upper. In the Doug Ellis Stand, M is the lower tier and P the upper, with Q for the away section below.
Is there a Villa Park seating plan with seat numbers?
Villa Park’s published plan works at block level, so it shows blocks and price zones, not every row and seat number. Use it to choose an area, then read the seat description before you pay. For a view from a real seat, fans use sites such as A View From My Seat, and 3D Digital Venue has a Villa Park seating plan with 3D views.
Is the Villa Park seating plan different for concerts?
Yes, a concert at Villa Park has its own layout, entry rules and travel advice, set for that show. Use the seat map from your ticket seller, because the club says its football travel page does not apply to concerts.
Why is the North Stand closed at Villa Park?
The North Stand at Villa Park is closed for the whole of 2026/27 because it is being rebuilt. The roof has been removed, and one end of the ground is a building site, so allow extra time to walk round.
The new stand will add over 5,500 seats. The club plans to open its standard seats and concourses, the walkways behind the seats, for the start of 2027/28, with hospitality due in October 2027. Fewer seats also means fewer single-game tickets this season.
Where is the best place to sit at Villa Park?
The best place to sit at Villa Park is the lower Holte End for noise and the centre of the Trinity Road Stand for the view. Here is how the main choices compare:
- Best for atmosphere: the lower Holte End, behind the goal. Central blocks L3 to L6 are Zone 2, and the front rows are Zone 4.
- Best for the view: Zone 1 in A4 and A5 of the Trinity Road Stand, side-on with height. The middle of the upper Doug Ellis Stand, P5 to P7, looks across at the tunnel.
- Best for value: Zone 4, which means the Holte End corners L1, L2, L7, L8, K1 and K7, plus the Family Zone.
- Best for families: the Family Zone at the north end of the Trinity Road Stand.
- First visit? A central Doug Ellis or Trinity Road seat shows you the whole pitch and the Holte End.
Some seats are sold as restricted view, which means something blocks part of the pitch. Season ticket holders in those seats get 10% off, so read the seat description before you pay.
How much do seats at Villa Park cost?
Seats at Villa Park cost adult members from £49.50 in Zone 4 for a Category 4 game and from £61 for a Category 3 game. A category is a price band: Category 3 covers top teams and key dates, and Category 4 covers the rest.
| Price zone | Where it is | Adult, Category 3 | Adult, Category 4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zone 1 | Centre of the Trinity Road Stand, middle of the upper Doug Ellis Stand | £86.50 | £62 |
| Zone 2 | Behind the goal in the Holte End, and most of the side stands | £81 | £56 |
| Zone 3 | K2 and K6 in the upper Holte End | £75 | £51.50 |
| Zone 4 | Holte End corners and front rows, and the Family Zone | £61 | £49.50 |
An under-14 pays £14.50 in Zone 4 for a Category 4 game. Champions League league-phase seats cost adult members £99 in Zones 1 and 2, and £89.50 in Zones 3 and 4. The Aston Villa membership guide lists the prices for every age.
How do you get a seat at Villa Park?
You get a seat at Villa Park by buying an Aston Villa membership, a paid yearly plan. The club expects home league games to sell out to members this season. Do these steps in order:
- Pick an area from the stand table, and choose a second area too.
- Join. Adult membership is £50, and Junior is £30.
- Check the on-sale date. Sales usually open three to four weeks before the game.
- Be ready at 9.30am. Tickets left after the ballots are sold first come, first served, online and by phone, and each member can buy one.
- Assign the ticket to the person going, at the point of purchase.
A season ticket is one payment for your own seat at every home league game, and the Aston Villa season ticket guide explains the waiting list. GA+ and hospitality, which add extras such as food and drink, are sold separately. Options include The Terrace View, The Lower Grounds, The Aston and 82 Champions Club.
Where do away fans sit at Villa Park?
Away fans at Villa Park sit in the north-east corner of the Doug Ellis Stand, next to the closed North Stand, in two areas. The club’s map marks blocks Q1 to Q3 and P9 to P11 as unavailable to home fans.
| Area | Seats | Turnstiles | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doug Ellis Lower, Block Q | About 1,600 | Q91 to Q96B | The only away block that sells alcohol, on matches where the club has a licence |
| Doug Ellis Upper, Block P | About 1,300 | P87, P88, P88A and P89 | A climb of 64 steps. Buy a programme outside, from the Witton Lane kiosks |
- Ticket office: the visitors’ office is on Witton Lane, opposite the away coach park.
- Coaches: the away coach park opposite the ground is free.
- Nearest station: Witton is the closest to the away seats.
- Late arrival: turnstiles Q96 and P89 stay open until the second half has started.
- Disabled away fans: visiting clubs have 14 wheelchair spaces in the Q blocks, reached through Gate 28 next to the away ticket office.
- Cup games: the away section may include other areas of the ground.
Following Aston Villa away instead? Every ground has its own plan, such as the Anfield seating plan, so check yours before you travel.
Where should families and children sit at Villa Park?
Families at Villa Park should look at the Family Zone first, at the north end of the Trinity Road Stand, around blocks A9 and B9. It is in Zone 4, the lowest price zone. This season the club has removed the rule that adults there must be with an under-18, because capacity is down.
- Children under four: they are not allowed in general admission, GA+, Club Si or Sports Bar seats. Some other hospitality areas can take them, so tell the club first.
- Tickets: each child needs their own Junior membership to buy in a members’ sale.
- Bags: the bag limit is small, so a changing bag may need the bag drop.
What accessible seating does Villa Park have?
Villa Park has wheelchair bays along the front of the central Trinity Road blocks, and in the lower tiers of the Doug Ellis Stand and the Holte End. For help, email accessibility@avfc.co.uk or call 0333 323 1874.
- Parking: disabled parking must be booked 48 hours before the match. Email the same address.
- Shuttle bus: all AV82 buses have low floors and take wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
- Trains: at Witton station, look for the accessibility signs on both platforms, and wait in the marked areas for staff.
- Entrances: the club sometimes closes an accessible entrance, so read the matchday guide before each game.
- Away section: companions sit next to wheelchair users, and those positions are pitch side with little cover. Visually impaired fans can get free match commentary on earpieces, and assistance dogs are welcome with a free extra seat.
How do you get to Villa Park, and can you park there?
The easiest way to get to Villa Park is a train from Birmingham New Street to Witton, 9 minutes away, then a walk of about 5 minutes. Parking at the ground is for permit holders only, and roads close before the game. All kick-off times are UK time.
| How | From | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Train to Witton | Birmingham New Street | 9 minutes by train, and about 5 minutes on foot |
| Train to Aston | Birmingham New Street | About 15 minutes’ walk from the ground |
| AV82 shuttle bus | Dudley Street, outside New Street | Every 15 minutes from three hours before kick-off. A return costs £5 and a single £3. Open to home and away fans |
| AV1 bus | Tamworth | A return costs £7 for adults, and £5 for under-18s and over-66s |
| Local bus | Routes 7, 11A and 11C to Witton Square, 65 and 67 to Aston station | The main routes that serve the ground |
| Car | Official car parks, booked at travel.avfc.co.uk | Book before you travel |
A traffic exclusion zone closes Witton Lane and Trinity Road to cars from two hours before kick-off until about 30 to 60 minutes after the final whistle. Residents’ parking zones carry a £60 fine, so do not park on nearby streets.
Travelling from outside Birmingham? Take a train to New Street, then Witton or the AV82. Coming from abroad? From Birmingham Airport, take the train into New Street and change for Witton. After the game, AV82 buses leave from Grosvenor Road for up to 90 minutes.
What can you bring into Villa Park, and when do turnstiles open?
You can bring a bag no larger than 20cm x 15cm x 5cm into Villa Park, which is far smaller than A4, and every bag is searched. Turnstile times are set for each game. For the 12.30pm Manchester City game on 24 October, they opened at 11am.
- Bag drop: it is on the corner of Witton Lane and Station Road and costs £10 per item. It opens from two hours before each game until two hours after.
- Tickets: digital only, in the Official Aston Villa App. Add them to Apple or Google Wallet and tap your phone. Free WiFi is available at the turnstiles if you forget.
- Late arrival: turnstiles stay open during the first half and close at the half-time whistle.
- Paying: Villa Park is cashless, and the programme kiosks outside are the only exception.
- Before the game: home fans with a ticket can use the Sports Illustrated Warehouse in the North Grounds.
What mistakes should you avoid at Villa Park?
The most common Villa Park mistakes are bringing a normal bag, driving to the ground and leaving too little time to reach the turnstile.
- Bringing a bag that is too big. Even a small backpack is over the limit.
- Booking the North Stand. No seats are on sale there in 2026/27, so ignore any older plan that shows it.
- Parking in a residents’ zone. The fine is £60.
- Arriving late. One end of the ground is a building site, so the walk takes longer.
- Waiting for a general sale. A sale open to everyone only happens if members leave tickets unsold.
- Skipping the seat description. Some seats are restricted view.

Frequently asked questions
How much capacity is Villa Park?
The Premier League Handbook lists Villa Park at 36,887 for the start of 2026/27, down because the North Stand is shut for the whole season. The club's travel page still says up to 42,000 fans on a matchday. The club expects more than 50,000 once the new North Stand opens.
Is there a Villa Park seating plan with seat numbers?
Aston Villa's 2026/27 plan shows blocks and price zones rather than every row and seat number, so use it to choose an area. Block codes such as L4, A5 and P6 tell you the stand and tier. For the view from a real seat, fans use photo sites such as A View From My Seat.
Which stand at Villa Park has the best atmosphere?
The Holte End, behind the south goal, has the best atmosphere. It is the home end, where Villa's most vocal supporters gather, especially in the lower tier. Its corner blocks and front rows are also Zone 4, the lowest price zone, so it can suit both noise and budget.
Where do away fans sit at Villa Park?
Away fans sit in the north-east corner of the Doug Ellis Stand, next to the closed North Stand. Block Q on the lower tier has about 1,600 seats and sells alcohol on licensed matches. Block P above has about 1,300 seats and is 64 steps up. Witton station is the closest to both.
Is the North Stand open at Villa Park?
No. The North Stand at Villa Park is closed for the whole of 2026/27 while it is rebuilt. The club plans to open the new standard seats and concourses for the start of 2027/28, adding over 5,500 seats. Holders moved from the stand have priority to return to it.
How much does a Villa season ticket cost?
For 2026/27, an adult season ticket for the 19 home league games costs £703 in Price Zone 4, the Holte End corners and Family Zone, and £997.50 in Zone 1, the centre of the Trinity Road Stand. New season tickets are sold only to the waiting list, which costs £10 to join.
What size bag can I take into Villa Park?
No bag larger than 20cm x 15cm x 5cm is allowed on the stadium footprint, and all bags are searched at the entrance. Anything bigger can go in the bag drop on the corner of Witton Lane and Station Road, which costs £10 per item and opens two hours before each game.
Can you park at Villa Park?
Parking at Villa Park is for permit holders only, and a traffic exclusion zone closes Witton Lane and Trinity Road from two hours before kick-off. Book an official car park at travel.avfc.co.uk, or take a train to Witton. Parking in a residents' zone carries a £60 fine. Disabled parking must be booked 48 hours ahead.
What are Aston Villa supporters called?
Aston Villa supporters are known as Villans, the name the club itself uses in its match and ticket news. The Holte End, behind the south goal at Villa Park, is where the most vocal Villans traditionally gather, and it is the place to sit if you want to be among them.
Is the Villa Park seating plan different for concerts?
Yes. A concert at Villa Park has its own layout, so the football blocks, zones and away section do not apply. Use the seat map from your ticket seller. The club also says its football travel advice is not for concerts, so check the entry, bag and travel rules for that show.
