Sunderland sell men's home tickets one game at a time, through ballots for Black Cats Adult and Academy Members, and a general sale is the exception rather than the rule. You opt in to each ballot during a two-day window, and a further sales phase only follows if seats remain after the draw.
The list below covers 16 Sunderland home fixtures in the Premier League and the Europa League.
Seats listed on Hellotickets for those games start from £95 (checked 5 Nov 2026).
Next at the Stadium of Light: Sunderland v Jagiellonia Białystok on Thursday 26 November.
The ballots for the Europa League visit of Jagiellonia Bialystok on Thursday 26 November and for Tottenham on Sunday 29 November both closed at 3pm on 29 October, with winners emailed from 4pm on 30 October; any tickets left go on general sale, on a date not yet set.

How to get Sunderland tickets
How to buy Sunderland tickets (official route)
1. Join as a Black Cats Member
Black Cats Adult Membership costs £48 a season, and Academy Members can enter the ballots too. Without one of the two, there is no ballot to enter for a Premier League home game.
2. Opt in during the two-day window
Each game has its own ballot, announced in the club's weekly ticket news, and entry is not automatic: you opt in to every match you want, within its two-day window. Results are emailed from 4pm on the day after the window closes. Some fixtures are restricted to members with a purchase history, so read the terms of each ballot before applying.
3. A further phase, sometimes
If tickets remain after the draw, the club may add another sales phase, as it did with a restricted general sale for Leeds. Treat that as a bonus rather than a plan: the ballot is the main route in.
4. What the club charges
Sunderland publish prices in their ticket bulletins. Adult tickets for Category A, the band Leeds United were placed in, start at £39. Premium hospitality is sold separately on the club's ticketing site, tickets.safc.com.
5. Europa League nights
European home games follow their own order. Europa League Ticket Scheme members are charged automatically first; a members' ballot comes next; season ticket holders can then reserve their usual seats, at prices from £35; and any tickets left go on general sale. For Dinamo Zagreb, adult general-sale prices started at £39. More on holding a seat for the season in our Sunderland Season Ticket guide.
Sunderland resale tickets: what to expect, stand by stand
One fixture stands apart. Sunderland v Newcastle tickets, for the Tyne-Wear derby in May, start far above any other home game on resale. Manchester City at the end of May, Liverpool on a Tuesday night in January and Manchester United in March form the next group. Most of the list, from Sunderland v Tottenham tickets to Aston Villa, Everton, Bournemouth and both Europa League nights, starts in a narrow band, with Hull City, Ipswich and Crystal Palace at the lower end.
Inside a match, listings usually open in the upper tiers, behind a goal ("Shortside Upper") or along the touchline ("Longside Upper"), with some plain "Longside" listings at the same level. The lower tier along the touchline and the "Central Longside Seats" near halfway sit higher, and Premier Concourse seats and hospitality lounges are listed apart. Behind the goals, the only upper tier is in the North Stand, where visiting fans sit this season, so check the block of any "Shortside Upper" listing.
Every resale price is the seller's own and can be above face value, with the final price shown before you pay. A successful ballot entry at the club's price costs far less.
Stadium of Light: stands, seating and getting there
The Stadium of Light opened in 1997 at Sheepfolds, in Monkwearmouth on the north bank of the River Wear, and held 48,095 at the start of the 2026/27 season. It is a single bowl, with lower and upper tiers in the West and North Stands:
- Jimmy Montgomery Stand (West Stand): the main stand along the west touchline, renamed in May 2025, whose upper tier is the Premier Concourse, with executive boxes.
- Roker End (South Stand): behind the south goal, named after the old Roker Park end, and the home singing end.
- North Stand: behind the north goal, on two tiers, with visiting supporters in the upper tier.
- East Stand: along the east touchline. The Family Zone has been placed in the south-east corner, next to the Roker End; confirm its location for 2026/27 when you book.
Two Metro stations serve the ground: after the match, use Stadium of Light for trains north towards Newcastle and St Peter's for trains south towards South Hylton. Sunderland station, in the city centre, is 10 to 15 minutes' walk, and bus routes 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 15 and 16 stop nearby. There is no general supporter parking, and vehicles cannot reach the site from 30 minutes before kick-off until the match has started.
The ground is cashless, bags must be A4 or smaller, there is no left luggage and everyone is subject to a security search. Our Stadium of Light seating plan shows the blocks.
Sunderland away tickets
Visiting supporters are high in the North Stand Upper, behind the north goal and facing the Roker End, with entry through turnstiles 69-74. The Premier League approved that location for 2026/27 as a one-season dispensation, so it may change in a later season.
For Sunderland fans buying on the resale market, the upper tier at the north end is therefore the one area to avoid. Listings in the Roker End or along either touchline keep you among home supporters.
Frequently asked questions
How do I buy Sunderland tickets?
Join as a Black Cats Adult Member, at £48 a season, or as an Academy Member, then opt in to the ballot for each match during its two-day window, announced in the club's weekly ticket news. Results are emailed from 4pm the day after the window closes. If seats remain, the club may add a further phase; otherwise resale is the alternative.
How much does a Sunderland ticket cost?
Adult tickets for Category A Premier League games, such as Leeds United, start at £39, and the Europa League general sale for Dinamo Zagreb also started at £39, with season ticket holders paying from £35. Membership costs £48 a season. Seats on the resale market start from £95 on Hellotickets (checked 5 Nov 2026), with the Newcastle derby priced far above the rest.
Can I buy Sunderland tickets without a membership?
Rarely. Premier League home tickets go to ballots for Black Cats Adult and Academy Members, and the club only adds another phase if seats remain, such as the restricted general sale for Leeds. Europa League games end with a general sale of any tickets left after scheme members, the ballot and season ticket holders. Otherwise, resale is the route for non-members.
Where do away fans sit at the Stadium of Light?
High in the North Stand Upper, behind the north goal and opposite the Roker End, where Sunderland's singing section is. Entry is through turnstiles 69-74. The Premier League approved keeping visiting supporters there for 2026/27 as a one-season dispensation, so the arrangement may change in future seasons.
How are Sunderland Europa League tickets sold?
In phases. Europa League Ticket Scheme members are charged automatically first, then Black Cats Adult and Academy Members enter a ballot, season ticket holders can reserve their usual seats, and any remaining tickets go on general sale; for Dinamo Zagreb, adult general-sale prices started at £39. The ballot for Jagiellonia Bialystok closed at 3pm on 29 October, and any tickets left go on general sale, on a date not yet set.
How do I get to the Stadium of Light?
By Metro, to Stadium of Light or St Peter's station; after the match, Stadium of Light serves trains north towards Newcastle and St Peter's trains south towards South Hylton. Sunderland station is 10 to 15 minutes' walk away, and several bus routes stop nearby. There is no general supporter parking, and vehicles cannot reach the site from 30 minutes before kick-off.
