What does hospitality mean in football?
Hospitality in football means paying extra for a better matchday: a padded seat, a private lounge, food, drinks, or all of these. A hospitality ticket is still a ticket for the game, and you watch from a seat in the stadium. The extra is what comes before, during and after the match.
A lounge is a room or bar kept for guests with that package. Clubs use several words for the same idea, including hospitality, premium, VIP and matchday experience.
People buy hospitality for three main reasons:
- It is often the easiest way in. Big clubs sell normal seats to members first, but hospitality is open to anyone.
- It makes a day special. Birthdays, anniversaries and a first visit are common reasons.
- It works for business. Corporate hospitality means a company buys seats to entertain clients or staff, often in a private box.
What are the main types of football hospitality package?
The main types of football hospitality package are premium seats, informal lounges, shared dining, private boxes and VVIP experiences. Each step up adds more food, more service or more privacy. This table uses official packages listed on 31 October 2026.
| Type | What it means | Official example | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium seat | A padded seat in a better area, with food to buy | Westview, Chelsea | £280 per person |
| Informal lounge | A bar, food kiosks and three free drinks | The Academy, Arsenal | £239 per person |
| Premium bars | A padded seat, bars and lounges, and light hand-held food | Premium Seats, Tottenham Hotspur | £299 per person |
| Shared dining | A sit-down meal in a restaurant with other guests | Stadium Social, Tottenham Hotspur | £449 per person |
| Fine dining | A three-course meal and a free bar | The West Club, Chelsea | £625 per person |
| Private box | A room for your own group, with seats outside it | Executive Box N7, Arsenal, for 10, 12 or 15 guests | £6,990 per box |
VVIP means the top packages, with extras such as watching the players arrive. Clubs price these separately, and each club’s site lists them.

What makes a game dearer?
The opponent is the biggest factor. Liverpool’s starting price on 31 October 2026 was £190 for Sunderland and £574 for Manchester United, at the same ground in the same season. If you only want the experience, choose a lower-profile game.
Is women’s football hospitality lower in price?
Women’s football hospitality is often a lower-priced way in. Chelsea Women’s Bottomless at the Bridge starts at £109, and Liverpool Women v Arsenal at Anfield started at £139. Manchester United says its packages at Leigh Sports Village start from £55.
Chelsea and Manchester United show prices including VAT, the UK sales tax. On other sites, check the total before you pay.
Where can you buy football hospitality in the UK?
You buy football hospitality from the club itself or its official partner, usually on a separate hospitality website. Start with the club’s own site, and follow its hospitality link.
- London: Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur each run their own hospitality site. Chelsea calls its programme Club Chelsea, where Under the Bridge Pre-Match, with food and a free bar, starts at £400. Arsenal’s The Academy is on Club Level. See football tickets in London for how the clubs differ.
- Merseyside: Liverpool sells on its own hospitality site. Everton’s Village Street package at Hill Dickinson Stadium has a padded seat in Block 301, a food token, a drink token and a programme. Its matchday page shows no price, so contact the club’s premium team.
- Manchester: Manchester United sells through Elevate, its official hospitality partner.
- England: England men’s hospitality at Wembley Stadium is through a membership only.
- Scotland: Rangers says VIP hospitality for every 2026/27 Premiership fixture at Ibrox is on sale.
- Other clubs: many smaller clubs sell hospitality too, so check the tickets or commercial section of the club’s site.
How do you book football hospitality?
You book football hospitality online on the club’s hospitality site, or by phone with its sales team. Follow these steps in order:
- Pick your game. Hospitality sites list upcoming fixtures, each with its own packages.
- Choose how many guests. Some packages sell in pairs only, or in groups of four.
- Filter by type, such as informal, dining or private box.
- Read what is included. Check the seat, the food, the drinks and when the lounge closes.
- Check the date. League kick-offs often move for television. Arsenal’s page warns that its Fulham date may still change, and says your package moves with it.
- Read the terms. Refund rules differ widely between clubs.
- Tell the club about dietary needs. Liverpool asks for 72 hours’ notice and Manchester United for 5 days.
What should you wear to football hospitality?
What you wear to football hospitality depends on the ground, but smart casual is a safe choice almost everywhere. Neat jeans or trousers with a shirt or smart top will fit most lounges. Leave the away team’s colours at home.
Women often ask what to wear, and the same answer applies. None of these rules sets different dress codes for women and men, so choose something comfortable that suits the weather.
| Ground | Dress code | Children | Largest bag |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anfield | Each lounge’s code is on your itinerary, about 7 days before | Aged two and over, with an adult | A5 |
| Old Trafford | Casual, and smart casual in the No.7 Suite | Under-18s need an adult, and babies need a ticket | 20cm x 15cm x 5cm |
| Hill Dickinson Stadium | Smart casual. Smart jeans and trainers are allowed | Ask the club | Ask the club |
| Wembley Stadium | No fixed code, but no team colours at club games | Aged three and over for sport | A4 |
Check your own club, because the rules are not the same anywhere else.
Can children go to football hospitality?
Children can go to football hospitality at most big grounds, but an adult must go with them and they usually pay the full price. Liverpool and Manchester United both need an adult aged 18 or over, and Wembley Stadium sets a minimum age of three for sport.
Bringing children? Chelsea lists Families At The Bridge from £129, a family-friendly suite with dining for adults and children. Check that a package suits them, because a long meal can be hard work for a young child.
Why do shutters come down in football hospitality?
Shutters come down in football hospitality because of the law on alcohol in view of the pitch. In England and Wales, section 2 of the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 sets the rule. During the event, it is an offence to have alcohol in any area of a designated ground from which the match can be directly viewed. A designated ground is one named by government order.
So a room with a window onto the pitch has a problem during a game. Closing the shutters or blinds is the usual way for a box to keep serving drinks, because guests can then no longer see the match from inside.
The same rule explains why you should not carry a drink to your seat, and why many bars pause during play. Liverpool’s packages say bar service is not available during the game.
Is football hospitality worth it?
Football hospitality is worth paying for when you want a seat you can rely on for a special day, or you have no membership and a fixed date. You can skip it if you simply want to watch a game and your dates are flexible, because a normal seat costs far less.
- Best for: first-timers, family treats, business guests and visitors to the UK with one free weekend.
- Good value: a lower-profile game, a post-match package or a women’s match.
- Not worth it if: atmosphere is what you want most. Lounge seats are often away from the loudest home end.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Comparing starting prices across different games. Compare the same fixture.
- Assuming you can cancel. Manchester United’s partner treats all sales as final, while Liverpool charges a share of the price.
- Booking travel too early. Wait until the date is confirmed.
- Assuming food is included. Seat-only packages have none.
- Arriving late. Lounges often open three hours before kick-off, and you are paying for that time.

Frequently asked questions
What is a hospitality ticket in football?
A hospitality ticket in football is a match ticket sold with extras such as a lounge, food, drinks or a padded seat. You still watch from a seat in the stadium. Clubs sell these tickets game by game or for a whole season, and they usually need no membership, which makes them a common route for first-time visitors.
What does hospitality mean in football tickets?
On a football ticket, hospitality means a premium package rather than a normal seat. It can be a premium seat with food to buy, a lounge with drinks, a sit-down meal or a private box. Clubs also call it premium, VIP or matchday experience, so check what each package includes before you compare prices.
What do you wear to football hospitality?
It depends on the ground, but smart casual is a safe choice. Old Trafford is mostly casual, with smart casual in the No.7 Suite. Everton's premium areas are smart casual and allow smart jeans and trainers. At Anfield, each lounge's code is on your itinerary. Avoid the away team's colours at any ground.
What do women wear to football hospitality?
Women can follow the same rules as everyone else, because the club dress codes in this comparison do not set different rules for women and men. Neat jeans or trousers with a smart top work well, or a dress if you prefer. Bring a coat, because your stadium seat is outdoors even if the lounge is warm.
How do you get hospitality football tickets?
Go to the home club's website and follow its hospitality link. Pick your game, choose a package and pay online, or call the sales team. You usually need no membership. Some events differ: Wembley Stadium keeps hospitality for England men's games and finals for its members, and sells no one-off packages for them.
How much is football hospitality?
On 31 October 2026, official starting prices per person included £120 at Manchester United for Coventry City, £190 at Liverpool for Sunderland, £239 at Arsenal and £299 at Tottenham Hotspur for Brighton. The opponent changes the price a lot. Liverpool's starting price was £574 for Manchester United at the same ground.
Why do shutters come down in football hospitality?
Shutters come down because of the law on alcohol at football grounds. In England and Wales, the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 bans having alcohol in any area of a designated ground from which the match can be directly viewed. Closing the shutters lets a box keep serving drinks.
What is corporate hospitality at football?
Corporate hospitality means a company buys hospitality to entertain clients or reward staff. It usually means a private box or a shared suite. Arsenal lists executive boxes from £6,990 per box for 10, 12 or 15 guests, and Chelsea describes its Diamond Suite as a VIP box for corporate hospitality and client entertainment.
Can you get hospitality for England football matches?
Yes, but it depends on the team. Wembley Stadium keeps hospitality for England men's home games for members, from £2,868 per seat, per season, including VAT. England Women v Ukraine on Saturday 5 December 2026 has one-off packages from £189 a person, on sale through the stadium's Experiences site.
