Aston Villa v Borussia Dortmund: date, kick-off and how to watch

Borussia Dortmund are Villa Park's Champions League visitors on Tuesday 19 January 2027, in the league phase, with an 8pm kick-off. Tickets are not on sale yet at the official seller; Villa's sale runs through Christmas week, starting with season ticket holders at 9.30am on 21 December and ending with all members on Christmas Eve.

The match is at Villa Park, Birmingham, on Tuesday 19 January 2027, with kick-off at 8pm UK time. Aston Villa confirmed that time alongside their Champions League on-sale dates, so it is the one to plan around.

Being a midweek European night, it is not affected by the Saturday 3pm blackout. Coverage in the UK is decided by the Champions League broadcasters, whose listings are the place to check if you are watching rather than going.

How to get Aston Villa v Borussia Dortmund tickets

Villa have published the whole timetable, and it lands just before Christmas. Each step opens at a set time:

  • Monday 21 December, 9.30am: season ticket holders, until 5pm on Tuesday 22 December, at £73.50 for an adult.
  • Wednesday 23 December, 2pm: Adult and Junior Members who attended six or more Europa League home games in 2025/26.
  • Wednesday 23 December, 4pm: members with three or more of those games.
  • Thursday 24 December, 9.30am: all Adult and Junior Members.

Members pay from £89.50 for an adult (Category 2, Zones 3-4), and the membership has to be in place first: £50 for an adult in 2026/27, with a junior option. No general sale appears in the schedule, and Villa have rarely held one this season. A member who cannot make the game can list the ticket on the club's resale and is refunded if it sells.

If none of those windows applies to you, resale is the way in. Listings on Hellotickets come from sellers who choose their own prices, which may top face value; the total is displayed before you pay. For Dortmund's other fixtures, see Borussia Dortmund tickets.

Good to know before you go

  • Very young childrenUnder-fours are not admitted to the GA+, Club Si, Sports Bar or general admission areas, so plan ahead if you were hoping to bring a toddler.
  • Buying resale safelyHellotickets says every ticket on its site is authenticated and that buyers are protected by its refund policy if there is ever an issue.

Where to sit at Villa Park

Hellotickets splits this match into three kinds of zone, and each maps onto a stand this season. “Longside” seats are along a touchline, in the three-tier Trinity Road Stand on the west side (the main stand, with the tunnel) or the two-tier Doug Ellis Stand on the east. “Central” seats are the blocks close to halfway in either. “Shortside” seats are behind a goal, which can only mean the Holte End, the two-tier home end to the south, because the North Stand is shut until 2027/28.

Dortmund's allocation starts from the usual away corner in the north-east of the Doug Ellis Stand, with Block Q downstairs and Block P upstairs, but Villa note that cup allocations may include other areas. Check the block of any listing near that corner on the Villa Park seating plan.
