At a glance
- Adult membership costs £50 and Junior £30, plus postage. It lasts 12 months from the day you buy it.
- Members can buy one ticket per match. With the North Stand closed, the club expects home league games to sell out to members.
- Membership gives priority, not a ticket. Adult league tickets start at £49.50 for Category 4 games and £61 for Category 3 games.
- A new member's usual route is the first-come sale at 9.30am. The First Timer and Loyalty Ballots depend on past games or waiting list points.
- Season ticket waiting list points need a separate £10 joining fee. Adult and Junior members then get 100 points.
Aston Villa membership costs £50 a year for an adult and £30 for a junior in 2026/27. It is the main way to buy a ticket for a men’s home game, because the North Stand at Villa Park is closed all season. Membership gives you the right to buy one ticket per match, not the ticket itself.
Every home game, with its sale status, is on the Aston Villa tickets page.
What is Aston Villa membership?
Aston Villa membership is a paid plan that lasts 12 months. It lets you buy tickets for men’s home games in a priority window, a sale period kept for certain fans. Aston Villa is a Premier League club in Birmingham. Its home, Villa Park in Aston, holds 36,887 people this season, according to the Premier League Handbook for 2026/27.
That number is lower than usual because the North Stand is being rebuilt. So tickets are shared out in order. Season ticket holders, who pay once for a seat at every home league game, buy first. Members come next. A general sale, a sale open to everyone, only follows if seats are left.
Which Aston Villa memberships are there?
Aston Villa memberships come in several types, and only Adult and Junior give priority for men’s tickets. The club’s 2026/27 page lists these:
| Membership | Price a year | Men’s ticket priority? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adult | £50, plus postage | Yes, one ticket per match | Anyone who wants to go to Villa Park |
| Junior, ages 3 to 11 and 12 to 17 | £30, plus postage | Yes, one ticket per match | Children who go to games |
| Junior, ages 0 to 2 | Free, plus postage | No | A first membership for a baby |
| Women’s Team | £30, plus postage | No | Fans of the women’s team |
| Video | £30 | No | Fans who follow from far away and want Villa TV |
| Essential | Free | No | Getting a Fan ID, and receiving a ticket forwarded by a season ticket holder |
A Fan ID is your personal ID on the club’s ticket site. Looking for a Claret membership or a digital membership? The 2026/27 page does not list a Claret plan, and Video is the content-only option.
What do you get with Aston Villa membership?
Aston Villa Adult membership gives you priority for home tickets, full Villa TV access, waiting list points and a welcome gift. The list below shows what each benefit means in practice:
- Ticket access: one ticket per member per match, in sales that usually open three to four weeks before the game.
- Waiting list points: 100 points towards a season ticket, once you have joined the list.
- Villa TV: full access, including pre-season games. Allow up to 15 minutes after you pay.
- Welcome gift: Adult and Women’s Team members get a gift. Junior members get a full membership pack.
- The SI Warehouse: member-only screenings at the venue, and priority for some events.
- Women’s games: four £5 discounts on WSL match tickets, the Women’s Super League.
- Offers: retail and partner deals, competitions and Villa Rewards, the club’s loyalty programme.
- A way out of a game: you can list a ticket for resale in the app or on the website. If it resells, you get a refund after the match.
Junior members also get junior events and a birthday e-card, and there is a 10% soccer schools discount.
Can you buy Aston Villa tickets without a membership?
You can rarely buy Aston Villa league tickets without a membership, because the club expects them to sell out to members this season. A general sale only happens when tickets are left. Fulham on Saturday 31 October went on general sale on 14 October, and Sunderland may follow on Monday 9 November.
Without a membership, these are your routes:
- A general sale, if one is announced for your game.
- GA+ or hospitality, which are upgrades or packages with extras such as food and drink, sold separately by the club. Options include The Terrace View, The Lower Grounds, The Aston and 82 Champions Club.
- A forwarded ticket from a season ticket holder, which needs at least a free Essential membership.
How many games can an Aston Villa member really see?
An Aston Villa member can buy one ticket for every home game, but the club warns that availability is reduced. So a new member should plan for only a few games. The club publishes no odds, and membership does not promise a seat. Members can try four routes, designed with the Fan Advisory Board:
| Route | Who can use it | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| First Timer Ballot, a draw for the right to buy | Members who have not been to Villa Park in 2026/27, but went at least once in the past two seasons | Up to 250 tickets per game. You can buy this way once a season, in the league or Champions League league phase |
| Loyalty Ballot | Members with over 120 waiting list points | A limited number of tickets, and more members qualify as points grow |
| Match bundle | Adult and Junior members, one bundle each | Five pairs of games, each pairing a Category 3 and a Category 4 match, with 1,000 of each. On sale since Monday 3 August |
| Members’ sale | All Adult and Junior members | What remains, first come, first served, online and by phone from 9.30am |
New to Villa? Read the first two rows closely. If you have never been to a game, you cannot use the First Timer Ballot. Membership gives you 100 points, which is short of the Loyalty Ballot. So your route is the 9.30am sale.
Points grow slowly. Each home league game adds 1, and each home cup or European game adds 2. The club now counts three seasons of attendance instead of two.
Champions League nights have their own order. For PSG, members who saw six or more Europa League home games in 2025/26 buy first, then those who saw three or more, then all members.
How much are tickets on top of Aston Villa membership?
Aston Villa tickets cost adult members from £49.50 for a Category 4 game and from £61 for a Category 3 game, on top of the £50 fee. A category is a price band: Category 3 covers top teams and key dates, and Category 4 covers the rest. A zone is a part of the ground.
| Price zone | Adult, Category 3 | Adult, Category 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Zone 1 | £86.50 | £62 |
| Zone 2 | £81 | £56 |
| Zone 3 | £75 | £51.50 |
| Zone 4 | £61 | £49.50 |
Sunderland at home shows what other ages pay in a Category 4 game. These are the club’s prices for that match:
| Age or group | Zone 1 | Zone 2 | Zone 3 | Zone 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Armed Forces | £49.50 | £44.50 | £41 | £40 |
| Over 66 | £41 | £37 | £34 | £33 |
| Under 21 | £38 | £34.50 | £31.50 | £30.50 |
| Under 18 | £38 | £26.50 | £25 | £23.50 |
| Under 14 | £38 | £16.50 | £15 | £14.50 |
The Villa Park seating plan guide shows where each zone is. Champions League league-phase tickets cost adult members £99 in Zones 1 and 2, and £89.50 in Zones 3 and 4. Domestic cup games cost £25 for adults and £10 for under-18s.
What does a first visit cost, item by item?
Here are the published prices for a parent and a child under 14 at a Category 4 game in Zone 4:
- Adult membership: £50, plus postage.
- Junior membership: £30, plus postage.
- Adult ticket: £49.50.
- Under-14 ticket: £14.50.
- Season ticket waiting list, if you want it: £10, once only, and taken off the price of any season ticket you later buy.
How do you join Aston Villa membership?
You join Aston Villa membership online at tickets.avfc.co.uk, and it works as soon as you pay. Memberships are on sale all year, so you do not need to wait for a set date. Follow these steps:
- Create your account. You need a Fan ID, which comes with a free Essential membership.
- Pick your plan. Choose Adult at £50 or Junior at £30 on the membership page.
- Pay. You can use the next priority window at once.
- Check auto renewal. To stop it, click View Memberships in your account, then Manage Auto Renewal.
- Join the waiting list, if you want a season ticket. This is a separate £10 step at tickets.avfc.co.uk/subscriptions, and joining as a member does not do it for you.
- Note the on-sale dates. Be ready at 9.30am for each game you want.
How do you buy a membership for a child?
To buy Aston Villa Junior membership, log in and select Join Now under Junior on the membership page. Pick the option from the drop-down menu, then use the pencil icon to assign it to your child. Your child must already have a free Essential membership and a Fan ID.
Can you buy a membership as a gift?
Yes, gift memberships are sold at tickets.avfc.co.uk/giftVouchers. For the 2026/27 season, the Adult welcome pack has become a membership gift, so search results for the old pack may be out of date.
Can you cancel Aston Villa membership?
You can cancel Aston Villa membership within 14 days of buying it, if you have not used any benefits or bought tickets. Use the club’s contact page at avfc.co.uk/contact-us. After 14 days you cannot cancel, but you can stop the auto renewal.
Is Aston Villa membership worth it?
Aston Villa membership is worth it if you plan to go more than once, or want a season ticket later. It is weaker for a new fan who wants one big game, because the first-come sale is that fan’s only members’ route.
- Best for: local fans who can be online at 9.30am, and anyone building points for a season ticket. The club expects a significant rise in season tickets once the new North Stand opens for 2027/28.
- Not worth it if: you only want Liverpool or Manchester United, and cannot be flexible. Hospitality is the surer route for one fixed date.
- Bringing children? Each child needs their own Junior membership. An under-14 seat in Zone 4 costs £14.50 for a Category 4 game. Children under four are not admitted to general admission seats.
- Coming as a group? Each ticket goes to one eligible Fan ID, so everyone needs their own membership.
- Disabled fans? Wheelchair bays are at the front of the central Trinity Road blocks, and in the lower tiers of the Doug Ellis Stand and Holte End. Speak to the ticket office before you buy.
- Living far away or abroad? Video gives you Villa TV for £30 with no postage. The Aston Villa season ticket guide covers the long route to a seat.
What mistakes should you avoid with Aston Villa membership?
The main Aston Villa membership mistakes are buying the wrong type, assuming the waiting list is included and leaving tickets unassigned.
- Buying Women’s Team or Video for men’s tickets. Only Adult and Junior give priority.
- Thinking you have joined the waiting list. It is a separate £10 step.
- Buying a ticket for a friend who is not a member. Each ticket is issued against an eligible Fan ID.
- Not assigning a ticket. Put it in the name of the person going, before the match. You cannot change it afterwards, and it builds that person’s booking history.
- Buying for an away fan. Tickets are for home fans only, and you can lose the right to buy.
- Missing your renewal. If you rejoin late, benefits are not backdated.
What is matchday like at Villa Park for a member?
Matchday at Villa Park starts in the Official Aston Villa App, because all tickets are digital and there is no collection. Add your ticket to Apple or Google Wallet before you leave. Tap your phone at the turnstile, the entry gate. All kick-off times are UK time.
- Train: Witton station is about 9 minutes from Birmingham New Street, then roughly 5 minutes on foot.
- Shuttle bus: the AV82 runs from Dudley Street, outside New Street, every 15 minutes from three hours before kick-off.
- Driving? A traffic exclusion zone starts two hours before kick-off, so book an official car park in advance.
- Bags: nothing larger than 20 x 15 x 5 cm. A bag drop costs £10 per item.
- Time: allow longer than usual, because one end of the ground is a building site this season.
All dates at the ground are on the Villa Park tickets page.

Frequently asked questions
How much is an Aston Villa membership?
For 2026/27, Aston Villa Adult membership costs £50 and Junior membership £30 for ages 3 to 11 and 12 to 17, both plus postage. Juniors aged 0 to 2 are free, plus postage. Women's Team and Video memberships cost £30 each. Match tickets are extra, from £49.50 for an adult at a Category 4 game.
Do you have to be a member to buy Aston Villa tickets?
For men's home league games this season, in practice yes. Season ticket holders buy first, then Adult and Junior members, and the club expects games to sell out at that stage. A general sale only follows if tickets are left, as it did for Fulham on 14 October. GA+ and hospitality are sold separately.
Is Aston Villa membership worth it?
It is worth it if you plan to go more than once or want a season ticket later, because members get priority and 100 waiting list points. It is weaker for a new fan chasing one big game. The First Timer and Loyalty Ballots depend on past attendance or points, which leaves the first-come sale.
How to become an Aston Villa member?
Create an account on tickets.avfc.co.uk to get a free Essential membership and a Fan ID, then buy Adult or Junior membership on the club's membership page. It works as soon as you pay and lasts 12 months. You can then buy in the next members' sale, which opens at 9.30am on Monday 9 November.
When does Aston Villa membership go on sale?
Aston Villa membership is on sale now, and you can buy it at any time of year. It lasts 12 months from the date you buy it, not for a fixed season. It renews automatically unless you switch that off, and the club emails you a reminder before it renews.
Does Aston Villa membership mean you will get a ticket?
No. Aston Villa says membership gives access to priority windows but does not promise that tickets will be available. Fewer tickets are on sale this season because the North Stand is closed. Each member can buy one ticket per match, and leftover tickets are sold first come, first served from 9.30am on the sale date.
Can I buy Aston Villa tickets for friends with my membership?
Only for friends who are members too. Aston Villa issues one ticket per eligible Fan ID, so everyone in your group needs their own Adult or Junior membership. Assign each ticket to the person going, before the match, because that builds their booking history and tickets cannot be reassigned once the game has been played.
Can I give an Aston Villa membership as a gift?
Yes. Aston Villa sells gift memberships at tickets.avfc.co.uk/giftVouchers. For 2026/27, Adult and Women's Team members receive a membership gift instead of the old welcome pack, and Junior members get a full membership pack. Postage is charged on top of the Adult, Women's Team and Junior prices.
Is there an Aston Villa membership discount code?
As of 31 October 2026, Aston Villa's membership page shows no discount code or promo code, only the listed prices: £50 for Adult and £30 for Junior, Women's Team and Video. Treat any code you find elsewhere with care, and check the price on the club's own ticket site before you pay.
Can I get a refund on Aston Villa membership?
You can cancel within 14 days of buying, if you have not used any benefits or bought tickets. After 14 days there are no refunds, but you can still stop the auto renewal in your account. Contact Supporter Services through the club's contact page at avfc.co.uk/contact-us if you need to cancel.
