Liverpool come to Wearside on Tuesday 5 January 2027 for a Premier League match under the lights at the Stadium of Light, kicking off at 8.15pm. On 5 Nov 2026, the game was not on sale yet at the official seller. Sunderland have now dated the sale: the Black Cats members' ballot opens at 3pm on Tuesday 24 November and closes at 3pm on Thursday 26 November, and any tickets left go on general sale from 3pm on Tuesday 1 December.

Two things shape this fixture: tickets go first to Black Cats members through a ballot, and it is an evening game on a working day, so the journey home needs as much planning as the ticket.

How to get Sunderland v Liverpool tickets

If you are a Black Cats member

Sunderland sell this match, like all their home league games, through a ballot for Black Cats Adult and Academy Members. Entry is opt-in for each game, during a two-day window announced in the club's weekly ticket news, and results are emailed the day after the window closes. For Liverpool, the window runs from 3pm on Tuesday 24 November to 3pm on Thursday 26 November, and successful members are notified and choose their seats from midday on Friday 27 November to midday on Monday 30 November. Some fixtures are restricted to members with purchase history, so read the conditions when the window opens.

If you are not

Adult membership costs £48 a season and opens the ballot to you. Without it, your club route is the general sale from 3pm on Tuesday 1 December, for any tickets left after the ballot. The price category for Liverpool had not been set; Category A adult tickets, the band used for Leeds United, start at £39. Premium hospitality is sold on its own through the club's ticketing site.

Resale is the other route. Seats listed on Hellotickets are priced by the people selling them and can be above face value; the full price appears before you pay. Liverpool's other fixtures are on our Liverpool tickets page.

Where to sit at Stadium of Light

Liverpool's supporters will be in the away section, high in the North Stand Upper behind the north goal, a location the Premier League has allowed for 2026/27 only. Facing them, behind the south goal, is the Roker End, where Sunderland's singing section gathers.

Along the touchlines, the Jimmy Montgomery Stand (West Stand) is the main stand; its upper tier, the Premier Concourse with the executive boxes, appears on Hellotickets as "Premier Concourse West Stand". The East Stand sits opposite. Elsewhere on Hellotickets, "Shortside" means behind a goal, "Longside" along the side and "Central Longside" near halfway. With only the North and West Stands double-tiered, Shortside Upper Tier seats are most likely at the north end, near the away fans. The Stadium of Light seating plan shows each block.
