Old Trafford tickets

Manchester United's home: members' sales and ballots, the four stands and safe standing, matchday rules and resale prices.

Updated 5 Nov 2026

Old Trafford, on Sir Matt Busby Way in Greater Manchester, has been Manchester United's home since 1910 and holds 74,158 at the start of 2026/27. The club sells home tickets to Official Members only, with no general sale: most league games go on a members' sale, and the biggest are allocated by members' ballot.

Three Category A ballots are open now, for fixtures whose dates and kick-offs are still to be confirmed: Liverpool (listed for Saturday 23 January) until 8am on 11 November, Chelsea (Saturday 6 February) until 8am on 17 November and Arsenal (Saturday 27 February) until 8am on 24 November. Adult prices for those games start at £62.

Old Trafford's 16 upcoming fixtures appear below, with resale listings on Hellotickets from £95 (checked 5 Nov 2026).

Up next at Old Trafford: Manchester United v Aston Villa on Sunday 8 November.

The Champions League home games follow their own rules. Official Members and season ticket holders who opted out of the competition have had access since 6pm on 29 August, and any further releases go to the same groups: RB Leipzig on Tuesday 8 December is Category C, from £44, and Bayern Munich on Wednesday 20 January is Category A, from £62. The Manchester United tickets 2026/27 hub follows each sale.

Old Trafford guide: stands, standing and travel

Seating plan and stands

The ground has four stands, and rail seats for safe standing run through all four quadrants: 13,577 in total, about 18 per cent of the capacity.

  • Stretford End (West Stand), behind the west goal: the home end, on two tiers. Its second tier is a 6,000-place safe standing section, certified in November 2025.
  • Sir Alex Ferguson Stand (North Stand), along the north touchline: the largest stand, with three tiers and about 26,000 seats.
  • Sir Bobby Charlton Stand (South Stand), along the south touchline: a single tier holding the dugouts and most of the executive suites, with the railway line behind it.
  • East Stand, behind the east goal: two tiers and nearly 12,000 seats, including the away section and the disabled supporters' section.

On resale listings, Shortside means the Stretford End or the East Stand, and Longside the Sir Alex Ferguson or Sir Bobby Charlton Stand. A Middle Tier listing points to the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, the only stand with three tiers. Listings called East Stand Tier 2 are in the stand that houses visiting supporters, so check the block if you want to sit with home fans. The club also has a Family Stand for families of season ticket holders. For a stand-by-stand view, see the Old Trafford seating plan.

In March 2025 the club announced plans for a new 100,000-seat stadium to replace Old Trafford; every 2026/27 home fixture listed here is at the current ground.

Getting there

The Old Trafford tram stop, which also serves the cricket ground, is the usual way in: it is within a five-minute walk of the stadium and accessible for wheelchair users. The Trafford Park line stops at Imperial War Museum and Wharfside are a short walk too.

  • Bus: the 255 and 256 (Stagecoach) and the 263 (Arriva) run from Piccadilly Gardens to Chester Road, near Sir Matt Busby Way; the 250 stops on Wharfside Way and the X50 on Water's Reach.
  • Rail: main-line trains run to Manchester Piccadilly, then take the tram or a taxi, about 15 minutes by road. Manchester United Football Ground station, beside the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand, no longer has a matchday service.
  • Car: the matchday postcode is M16 0RA, official car parks must be booked online, and the E1 and E2 car parks are reached only via Wharfside Way with a permit.

Tickets are NFC tickets issued in the Manchester United App: you add them to Apple or Google Wallet and tap your phone at the turnstile, so a compatible smartphone is essential. There are no QR codes, and screenshots are not valid.

The bag limit is strict: nothing larger than 20 x 15 x 5 cm, far smaller than A4. Bag drops at the E2 car park (for away fans), N2, W2 Cosgrove and the Foundation car park off Railway Road charge £5 and open 4 hours before kick-off. Everyone is searched or screened on entry, and smoking is banned throughout the stadium, e-cigarettes included. Visiting supporters enter at the south-east corner, where the away turnstiles open two hours before kick-off.
