- Gold and Platinum holders must use, list, transfer or donate their seat for at least 16 home league games, and attend at least ten.

A Manchester City season ticket cannot simply be bought, and there is no waiting list to join. City emails Matchday Members who meet its criteria and gives them a window to buy. Matchday Membership costs £38 a season. For the new Flexi tickets in 2026/27, fans needed tickets for 35 home men’s matches across three seasons.

What is a Manchester City season ticket?
A Manchester City season ticket keeps the same seat for you at all 19 Premier League home games in a season. City plays in the Premier League, England’s top division. Its home is the Etihad Stadium in east Manchester, which holds 61,038 people, according to the Premier League Handbook for 2026/27.
City calls its holders Season Ticket Members. Everyone else needs an Official Membership, a yearly plan that lets you buy tickets for single games. It costs £65 for Premium, £38 for Matchday or £20 for Junior, and it does not come with a seat.
General admission means a normal seat, with no food or lounge included. City says only a limited number of men’s home games may go on general sale, a sale open to everyone.
What is the difference between Gold, Platinum and Flexi?
Gold, Platinum and Flexi are the three Manchester City season ticket types. All three hold your seat for 19 league games, but Flexi holders pay for each match separately, and Platinum earns double ticket points. Ticket points are a record that gives you priority for away and cup tickets.
| Feature | Gold | Platinum | Flexi |
|---|---|---|---|
| Same seat for all 19 home league games | Yes | Yes | Yes, but you buy each match ticket |
| Ticket points | Yes | Double points | Yes |
| Ticket Transfer: send your seat to someone for one game | Yes | Yes | Three times a season |
| Ticket Exchange: list a seat you cannot use | Yes | Yes | No |
| Priority for away and cup final tickets | Yes | Yes | Yes |
All three also include split payments, cup schemes for home cup tickets, tickets for friendlies and pre-season games, and a discounted Metrolink season ticket for Manchester’s trams.
Gold or Platinum is best if you go to nearly every home game. Flexi is best if you go often but not always, because your seat is held and you pay match by match.
How much is a Manchester City season ticket?
Manchester City season ticket prices depend on your seat, and the club lists them on its 2026/27 Stadium Pricing Maps rather than in one public table. City’s April 2026 ticketing update says general admission renewal prices stayed at the same rate for a third season running.
The latest map open to read, for 2025/26, started at £425 for an adult, and the club kept renewal prices the same for 2026/27. Only the club’s map shows the price of your own seat. On that map, the Flexi total for 19 games equals the Gold price for the same seat, plus the membership fee. So Flexi spreads the cost rather than lowering it.
For 2026/27, Flexi members pay a £120 deposit, or £48 for juniors. They earn it back with £7.50 off each league home game, or £3 for juniors.
To judge value, compare with single games. City’s adult Official Member tickets for 2026/27 start at these prices, set by the category, the club’s price band for each game:
| Category | Adults from | Example home games |
|---|---|---|
| A | £40 | Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal |
| B | £35 | Everton |
| C | £30 | Fulham, Leeds, Nottingham Forest |
| D | £20 | Hull City |
| Midweek category | £25 | Some midweek league games |
Is there a Manchester City season ticket waiting list?
Manchester City has no season ticket waiting list that you can join. New season tickets go to Matchday Members who meet the club’s buying criteria, and City emails them a window to buy.
For the new Flexi tickets in 2026/27, the test was general admission tickets for 35 individual home men’s matches, in any competition, across 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26. The club’s help page says reaching 35 does not promise you a season ticket.
So the real queue is your buying record, not a list. Most of the new North Stand seats also went to existing holders, which leaves fewer for new members.
How do you get a Manchester City season ticket?
You get a Manchester City season ticket by becoming a Matchday Member, building a record of home tickets and waiting for an email invitation. Follow these steps:
- Join. Matchday Membership costs £38 a season for adults aged 18 or over. Children can join as Junior Members at £20.
- Buy home tickets often, including the lower-demand games. In 2026/27 every home men’s match counted, in any competition.
- Watch your email in spring and early summer, when the club runs its season ticket windows.
- Buy inside your window when invited. Split payments are available.
- Sort out group seats afterwards. Friends in different groups buy in their own windows, and seats can then be relocated so you sit together.
The Manchester City membership guide explains which games each member can buy.
Where did the new Flexi tickets come from?
City’s new Flexi tickets came from the expanded North Stand, now called the Pep Guardiola Stand, which added more than 7,000 general admission seats. The club then released over 4,000 new Flexi tickets across the stadium for 2026/27, with 50% set aside for Junior Members.
What must you do to keep a Manchester City season ticket?
To keep a Manchester City season ticket, Gold and Platinum holders must use, list, transfer or donate their ticket for at least 16 home league games. They must also attend at least ten in person. Flexi holders must buy their match ticket at least ten times.
If you cannot go to a game, you have two main choices:
| Your choice | How it works | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Ticket Transfer | Send your ticket to someone on your Friends and Family list, member or not | You can add up to 18 people. Transfers open 10 days before each game, and a different age group pays the difference |
| Ticket Exchange | List a league game from your account, under Tickets, then Exchange | Gold and Platinum only. If it sells, you get a fraction of your season ticket price after the match |
Seats listed on the Ticket Exchange go back on sale to Official Members several weeks before each game. Gold and Platinum holders can also claim a refund for five selected matches a season.
When do Manchester City season tickets go on sale?
Manchester City season tickets go on sale in May and June, mostly to existing holders. A renewal means a holder pays to keep their seat for another season. Relocation means moving to a different seat. This was the order for 2026/27:
| Dates in 2026 | What happened |
|---|---|
| Monday 18 to Friday 22 May | Pre-registered holders could move to the expanded North Stand |
| Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 May | Pre-registered holders could buy new Junior season tickets |
| Tuesday 26 May to Friday 5 June | Renewals for existing holders |
| Tuesday 9 to Wednesday 10 June | Auto-renewals processed |
| Monday 22 to Tuesday 23 June | General relocation window |
Qualifying members were contacted about the new Flexi tickets in June. As of 31 October 2026, the club has not announced dates for 2027/28.
Who should get a Manchester City season ticket, and who should not?
A Manchester City season ticket suits fans who can get to the Etihad for most league games and are happy to build a buying record first. For everyone else, a membership is the better buy.
- Best for: fans near Manchester who want the same seat every game.
- Not worth chasing if: you want one or two games a season. Matchday Membership and a lower-priced game will do.
- Bringing children? Half of the new Flexi tickets were for Junior Members, so start a Junior Membership early. Under-14s must sit next to an adult aged 18 or over, and everyone aged 5 or over needs a ticket.
- Disabled fans? City’s Access Team is on +44 (0)161 444 1894, option 2, or at access@mancity.com.
- Living far away or abroad? Attending at least ten league games is a lot, so membership and single games may suit you better.
- Want Women’s games? Manchester City Women season tickets are separate. The club’s women’s hub says they are no longer on sale for 2026/27.
What can you do if you cannot get a Manchester City season ticket?
If you cannot get a Manchester City season ticket, you can still see games through members’ sales, the further release or a ticket from a holder.
- Members’ sales. Official Members buy single games. For Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds, priority goes to members who bought three or more home league games across 2024/25 and 2025/26.
- The further release. This is a second sale, several weeks before each game, once the date and kick-off are confirmed. It includes seats from the Ticket Exchange.
- Ticket Transfer. Ask a holder to add you to their Friends and Family list. This also works for non-members.
- Hospitality. Bars and hospitality packages, which are tickets with food or drink, are sold separately.
What mistakes should you avoid with a Manchester City season ticket?
The biggest Manchester City season ticket mistakes are waiting for a list, buying only the big games and missing your email.
- Looking for a waiting list. There is none to join, so put your effort into your buying record.
- Buying only the big games. Lower-demand games counted towards the 35 as well, and they are easier to get.
- Missing your window. Invitations come by email, so keep your address up to date and check your junk folder.
- Expecting Flexi to work like Gold. Flexi has no Ticket Exchange and allows three transfers a season.
- Leaving your seat empty. A game you skip without listing, transferring or donating does not count towards the 16.
What is matchday like at the Etihad for a season ticket holder?
Matchday at the Etihad is simple for a season ticket holder: you tap your phone at the turnstile, the entry gate, and walk to your own seat. General admission gates open two hours before kick-off, and City asks fans to be seated 15 minutes before it. All kick-off times are UK time.
- By tram: the Etihad Campus Metrolink stop is right outside the Pep Guardiola Stand, 8-10 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly.
- Travelling from elsewhere in the UK? Take a train to Manchester Piccadilly, then the tram.
- Driving? Book matchday parking before you travel.
- Bags: small handheld bags no larger than A4. The stadium is cashless.
- Tickets: add yours to Apple or Google Wallet, because screenshots do not work.
The Etihad Stadium seating plan guide explains each stand, and every event at the ground is on the Etihad Stadium tickets page.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a season ticket at Manchester City?
Manchester City season ticket prices depend on your seat: the club's 2025/26 map, the latest open to read, started at £425 for an adult. City says general admission renewal prices stayed at the same rate for a third season. For comparison, adult members' match tickets start at £20, £30, £35 or £40, depending on the game.
Is there a waiting list for a Man City season ticket?
No, not one you can join. New season tickets go to Matchday Members who meet the club's criteria, and City emails them a window to buy. For the new Flexi tickets in 2026/27, that meant general admission tickets for 35 home men's matches across the three previous seasons.
How do you become a season ticket holder at Man City?
Join as a Matchday Member at £38 a season, then buy home tickets as often as you can, in any competition. When new season tickets are released, City emails eligible members a window to buy. Reaching the club's target does not promise a seat, so keep buying single games in the meantime.
How much do tickets cost for Manchester City's 2026/27 season?
Adult Official Member tickets for men's home league games start at £40 in Category A, £35 in Category B, £30 in Category C and £20 in Category D. A midweek category starts at £25. You need a membership first, which costs £38 a season for Matchday or £65 for Premium.
What is a Flexi season ticket at Manchester City?
A Flexi season ticket holds the same seat for you at every home league game, but you buy each match ticket separately. Holders must buy at least ten times a season and can transfer a ticket up to three times. Unlike Gold and Platinum, Flexi has no Ticket Exchange.
What does a Manchester City season ticket include?
A Manchester City season ticket includes the same seat for 19 Premier League home games, ticket points for away and cup priority, split payments, cup schemes, tickets for friendlies and pre-season games, and a discounted Metrolink season ticket. Platinum earns double points, and Flexi holders pay match by match.
When do Manchester City season tickets go on sale?
City runs its season ticket windows in May and June. For 2026/27, renewals ran from Tuesday 26 May to Friday 5 June 2026, and qualifying members heard about new Flexi tickets in June. As of 31 October 2026, the club has not announced dates for 2027/28.
Can I give my Man City season ticket to someone else?
Yes, for single games. Ticket Transfer lets you send your ticket to anyone on your Friends and Family list, including non-members. You can add up to 18 people, and transfers open 10 days before each match. If the person is in a different age group, the difference in price must be paid.
Are there junior season tickets at Manchester City?
Yes. In May 2026, pre-registered holders could buy new Junior season tickets from Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 May. City also set aside 50% of its new Flexi tickets for 2026/27 for Junior Members. A Junior Membership costs £20 a season, so that is the place to start.
Is there a Manchester City Women season ticket?
Yes. Manchester City Women season tickets are separate from the men's Gold, Platinum and Flexi tickets, with their own renewal dates. As of 31 October 2026, the club's women's hub says they are no longer available to buy for 2026/27, so check the hub again before next season.
