Manchester City v Manchester United: date, kick-off and how to watch
The Manchester derby comes to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 20 March 2027, a provisional Premier League date with the kick-off time to be confirmed. City prioritise this fixture for members with a buying record, at least three home Premier League matches across 2024/25 and 2025/26, and their match page shows a one-ticket-per-member sale with nothing available at present.
So the derby is not on sale yet at the official seller for now; the next chance at the club is a further release several weeks before kick-off.
Seats listed on Hellotickets start at £324 in the Shortside Upper Tier (checked 5 Nov 2026).

The derby is provisionally on Saturday 20 March 2027 at the Etihad Stadium, east Manchester, with kick-off TBC. The Premier League fixes the final date and time after the broadcasters' selections, so both can still change.
If it stays at 3pm on the Saturday, the blackout applies and there is no live UK broadcast. Any other slot will appear in the broadcasters' listings with the channel.

How to get Manchester City v Manchester United tickets
Nothing is on sale to members right now. This is how City handle the derby in 2026/27:
- Priority for regulars. United are one of four opponents, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds, whose home games City prioritise for members who bought at least three home Premier League matches across 2024/25 and 2025/26.
- One ticket each. The members' sale on the match page is limited to one ticket per member, with adult prices from £40, and no tickets are available in it at present.
- Further release. Several weeks before the match, once the date and kick-off are confirmed, City put more seats on sale to members, including those Season Ticket Members list on the Ticket Exchange. The date is not published.
- Hospitality. On sale now, separately from match tickets, from £625.
Membership costs £38 a season for Matchday, £65 for Premium and £20 for Junior, but a new member has no buying record for the priority phase. For non-members, resale is the route: seats listed on Hellotickets are priced by sellers, can be well above face value for a derby, and the final price is shown before you pay. See our Manchester City Membership guide, or the Manchester United tickets page for United's own matches.
Good to know before you go
- Watch for the release dateThe derby's further release, with Ticket Exchange seats, has no date yet. Keep an eye on City's match page: it is the main remaining route at member prices.
- Arrive early on derby dayTurnstiles open two hours before kick-off. Getting in early leaves time for bag checks, and your NFC mobile ticket only needs a tap on the TAP reader.
- Post-match holdAway fans may be held in briefly after the final whistle, and Ashton New Road reopens about 25 minutes after full time, when the city-centre shuttle buses leave.
- Late-arriving resale ticketsHellotickets sends tickets as soon as the seller passes them on, sometimes only 1–2 days before the event, so a late delivery is normal.
Where to sit at Etihad Stadium
Derby day makes the South Stand the most sensitive part of the ground. It is home to most of City's vocal fans and 4,995 rail seats, and it also contains the away section, where United's supporters sit after entering through L1, L2 and L3. If you are a City fan buying resale, make sure your block is on the home side of that stand, or pick another one.
The alternatives are the Pep Guardiola Stand at the north end, beside the tram stop, with its new second tier and rail-seating area; the East Stand, known to fans as the Kippax; and the Colin Bell Stand, which Hellotickets lists as a "Colin Bell Stand Lower" zone for this game. Other listings read Shortside (behind a goal), Longside (touchline) or Central (near halfway). The Etihad Stadium seating plan helps you check a block's position.
Frequently asked questions
Is it difficult to get Man City tickets?
For the derby, yes. City prioritise it for members who bought at least three home Premier League matches across 2024/25 and 2025/26, the members' sale allows one ticket per member, and no tickets were on sale at the last check. Games outside City's priority list are easier, with up to four tickets per member.
How much are Manchester City v Manchester United tickets?
City's members' price table starts at £40 for adults, but no member tickets are on sale at the club at present; hospitality is sold separately, from £625. Resale seats listed on Hellotickets start at £324 in the Shortside Upper Tier (checked 5 Nov 2026). Sellers set their own prices, which can be well above face value for a derby, and the final price is shown before you pay.
Can I buy Manchester City v Manchester United tickets without being a member?
Not from City. Men's home tickets go to Official Members only in 2026/27, and the derby is prioritised for members with a buying record of three or more home league games across 2024/25 and 2025/26. Hospitality is sold separately. Without membership, resale is the remaining route.
Is Manchester City v Manchester United sold out?
At the last official check (5 Nov 2026), the match was not on sale yet at the official seller: no members' tickets were available, and a further release, including Ticket Exchange seats, is due several weeks before the game. Hospitality was on sale, and resale listings are on Hellotickets.
Where do Manchester United fans sit at the Etihad?
In the away section of the South Stand, the same stand as City's most vocal home support. Visiting fans enter through L1, L2 and L3, can collect pre-arranged tickets at the South Stand Ticket Office, and may be held in briefly after the match.
What time is kick-off for Manchester City v Manchester United?
Not confirmed yet. The derby is provisionally set for Saturday 20 March 2027 at the Etihad Stadium, and the Premier League will fix the final date and time. A 3pm Saturday kick-off would not be broadcast live in the UK because of the blackout.
