The Premier League currently lists the match for Saturday 16 January 2027 at Stamford Bridge, in Fulham, with the kick-off time to be confirmed. That date is provisional and can move once the UK broadcasters make their picks.
If the game stays at 3pm on the Saturday, it will not be shown live in the UK, because Premier League matches kicking off then are blacked out. If it moves to a televised slot, the broadcaster appears in the league's TV listings. Check the Chelsea Official App for the final date and time.

How to get Chelsea v Sunderland tickets
Chelsea have not announced when members can apply for this game. When they do, the ticket news for the match will give the window and the price category, and only True Blue+, True Blue, CFC Blue and Junior Blue members will be able to enter. True Blue costs £60 a season and Junior Blue £35, and those two go into the first allocation; CFC Blue, at £45, has tickets ring-fenced for it, and True Blue+ costs £80.
Inside the window, timing is irrelevant: tickets are allocated one per person, up to four on a single application, and Chelsea tell applicants by email within four working days whether they were successful. Those who miss out get a priority period on the club's ticket exchange, where season ticket holders and members resell seats, before all members get access. The exchange closes three hours before kick-off and its sales are final.
Without membership, there is little at the club: general sales are rare, at £5 above the member rate. Resale listings on Hellotickets are the alternative, with sellers setting prices that can exceed face value. The guide to getting Chelsea tickets sets out each step.

Where to sit at Stamford Bridge
Both ends have rail seating: the Matthew Harding Stand to the north, Chelsea's most vocal end, in its lower tier, and the Shed End to the south. The Shed End also holds the away section, so Sunderland fans will be in that stand, with home supporters in the rest of it. For visiting supporters with access needs, the Shed Upper lift is inside the away section.
The touchline stands are the East Stand, which has the dugouts, and the bigger West Stand, each with three tiers. On Hellotickets, 'Shortside' means behind a goal, 'Longside' along a touchline and 'Central' the stretch near halfway; 'Westview', 'West View Central' and 'West Stand' listings are on the west side.
