Borussia Dortmund v AEK Athens: date, kick-off and how to watch

AEK Athens visit Dortmund on Wednesday 27 January 2027 for a Champions League night at Signal Iduna Park, which UEFA calls BVB Stadion Dortmund. Kick-off is 9pm in Germany, 8pm in the UK.

At the club: not on sale yet at the official seller (checked 5 Nov 2026).

Resale seats listed on Hellotickets start at £86 in the Category 3, checked 5 Nov 2026.

European nights change the ground: under UEFA rules the Yellow Wall becomes all-seated and capacity falls to 66,099, so there are fewer tickets to go round than for a Bundesliga game, and BVB's members get the first look at them.

UEFA's match data and BVB's fixture list agree: Wednesday 27 January 2027, kick-off 9pm local time. Germany is an hour ahead of the UK in winter, so it is an 8pm start in Britain. Athens is an hour ahead of Dortmund, which makes it 10pm for AEK's supporters at home.

The venue is the old Westfalenstadion on Strobelallee, next to Stadion Rote Erde and the Westfalenhallen. In the UK, Champions League matches are shown by the competition's rights holders, who confirm each matchday's selections in advance; check their schedules that week.

No pre-sale announced yet (BVB: 4-6 weeks ahead, members first). Champions League: Wed 27 Jan, 9pm.

Membership: BVB adult membership (access to the pre-sale), €62 per year.

How to get Borussia Dortmund v AEK Athens tickets

No presale has been announced yet. BVB's pattern for Champions League home games is the same as for the Bundesliga: the presale opens four to six weeks before the match, which for this tie points to mid-to-late December.

  1. Members first. BVB members get into the online ticket shop one to two days before anyone else, with an allowance of between two and ten tickets per member depending on the game. Adult membership costs €62 a year.
  2. Open presale, sometimes. The presale schedule on bvb.de lists member dates and only occasionally an open presale date for non-members. The club says tickets often sell out very quickly and do not go on general sale.
  3. Official Secondary Market. Once most day tickets are sold, holders can resell through the club at the day-ticket price plus 10%. If the match was members-only, so is the resale.

The ticket shop sits behind a Queue-it waiting room, so expect to queue when a presale opens. As a guide to face value, BVB's single-match seats run from €35 in Category 6 to €85 in Category 1; standing tickets do not apply on European nights.

If you are not a member, resale is the realistic route. Seats listed on Hellotickets are priced by their sellers and can be above face value; the final price is shown before you pay. AEK's other fixtures are on AEK Athens tickets, and the rest of the competition is under Champions League tickets.

Where to sit at Signal Iduna Park

Four roofed stands surround the pitch. The Südtribüne, the Yellow Wall, is behind the south goal; for this match it is fitted with seats. The Westtribüne (blocks 20-27 and 30-34) and Osttribüne (blocks 40-54) run along the touchlines on two tiers. The Nordtribüne (blocks 60-78) is behind the north goal, and BVB put visiting fans there and in the north-east corner.

On Hellotickets, listings follow BVB-style price bands, with Category 1, 1 Silver and 1 Gold at the top and Categories 2 and 3 below; "Kurve" listings are in the corners. Stand-named listings tell you exactly where you are. Away colours are banned in the south-east and south-west corners.

Frequently asked questions

How hard is it to get Borussia Dortmund tickets?

Hard without membership. BVB's presales open four to six weeks before each match, members go in one to two days earlier, and the club says tickets often sell out very quickly without a general sale. For a European night the capacity also drops to 66,099, as the Südtribüne is seated.

How much are Borussia Dortmund v AEK Athens tickets?

BVB have not priced this tie yet. Their single-match seats run from €35 in Category 6 to €85 in Category 1. On the resale market, seats listed on Hellotickets start at £86 in the Category 3, checked 5 Nov 2026; sellers set those prices.

Can I buy Borussia Dortmund v AEK Athens tickets without being a member?

Only if BVB announce an open presale for this match, which the club does only sometimes. Adult membership, at €62 a year, gives access to the members' presale. Without it, resale listings on Hellotickets are the practical alternative.

Is Borussia Dortmund v AEK Athens sold out?

Not yet: the presale has not been announced. BVB usually open it four to six weeks ahead, members first. The club says tickets often sell out very quickly, so non-members should not count on a general sale. Resale seats are already listed.

What time is kick-off for Borussia Dortmund v AEK Athens?

Kick-off is at 9pm German time on Wednesday 27 January 2027, as listed by UEFA and BVB. That is 8pm in the UK and 10pm in Athens. Check your ticket before travelling in case of any change.
