Membership and presale

Adult membership costs €62 a year and unlocks the presale. Sales usually open four to six weeks before the match, so for 10 April look at late February or early March. Members get into the shop one to two days before any open sale, with between 2 and 10 tickets per member depending on the game. The presale schedule on bvb.de lists member dates and only sometimes an open presale; the club says tickets often sell out very quickly and do not go on general sale.

The derby surcharge

Schalke is one of two top-match fixtures with a 20% surcharge on single-match prices. It does not apply to standing places or Category 6. Base prices start at €18.50 for standing, €35 for Category 6 and €85 for Category 1 before the surcharge.

Official Secondary Market

Once most day tickets are sold, usually a few days after the presale, BVB open their own resale at the day-ticket price plus a 10% fee. If the derby is sold to members only, the secondary market is members-only too.

Without membership, resale is the route most fans will use. Seats listed on Hellotickets are priced by sellers and can be well above face value; the final price is shown before you pay. For a derby, the stand matters more than the price. The Nordtribüne, behind the north goal (blocks 60-78), carries the away section together with the north-east corner, and blocks 60 and 61 are standing only. That is where Schalke's supporters go, and it is also where the lowest resale listing for this game sits: if you are a Dortmund fan, ask the seller for the exact block before paying.

Home fans belong on the Südtribüne, the Yellow Wall with 24,454 standing places behind the south goal, or in the two-tier Westtribüne and Osttribüne along the touchlines. On Hellotickets, "Standing" and "Südtribüne" listings are terrace places; "Category 1" to "Category 3", Silver and Gold are seated price bands; "Kurve" is a corner. Away colours are banned in BVB's standing blocks and in the south-east and south-west corners, and BVB ask fans not to wear them anywhere outside the away section.
