Wrexham v Cardiff City: date, kick-off and how to watch

Cardiff City come north for a Welsh derby in the Championship: Wrexham v Cardiff at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday 6 March 2027, kick-off 3pm. North meets south Wales, in a fixture with real local edge.

How to get Wrexham v Cardiff City tickets

Here is the official route, start to finish.

Membership

Only Official Members can apply. The 2026/27 options are Digital Dragon (£25 for an adult), Red Dragon (£35) and Gold Dragon (£50). Membership also unlocks the Ticket Exchange.

The Cardiff ballot

No date has been announced. This season's ballots have opened between 29 and 39 days before kick-off, so for 6 March expect late January or early February. Each ballot has its own closing date, and the draw is run that same day. You can enter once; the tickets you ask for are allocated in full or not at all, and successful members are charged automatically.

If you miss out

Two club routes remain. Members who were unsuccessful and have not attended a game this season go into a second ballot of 100 tickets. And season ticket holders list seats on the members-only Ticket Exchange, which the club says often has tickets until matchday.

Price

The same for every opponent, derby included: adults from £28 in the University End, more in the Macron and Wrexham Lager stands, no booking fees. Match hospitality is released after the ballot ends.

Outside membership, resale is the only option. Seats listed on Hellotickets carry prices set by sellers, which can be well above face value, and the final price is shown before you pay. See Wrexham tickets for the season, or Wrexham v Norwich City tickets ten days later.

Good to know before you go

Membership before FebruaryThe Cardiff ballot should open in late January or early February. Join as an Official Member in good time, as non-members cannot enter.
Exchange right up to matchdaySeason ticket holders who cannot go list seats on the Ticket Exchange. The club says many become available until the day of the game, so keep checking.
No flasks, no foodFood, drink and flasks are not allowed into the Racecourse Ground, and only A4 bags get in, after being searched and tagged.
Pre-book parkingWrexham University's car park next to the ground must be pre-booked; there is no parking at Wrexham General or in the permit zones around the stadium.

Where to sit at Wrexham Racecourse Ground

Cardiff's fans go in the away section of the Wrexham Lager Stand, a two-tier side stand, through Gates 1-4; both its upper and lower tiers are used for away supporters. For a derby, home fans should be sure any listing in that stand is not in the visitors' area.

The home side of the ground is the Macron Stand, along Mold Road, with private boxes and pitch-level wheelchair spaces, and the Tech End behind one goal, with Jonesy's Bar. The only resale area on the table so far, "Stok Cold Brew Cofee Stand", is the Tech End under its sponsored name. The Kop at the Crispin Lane End is still under construction, so the ground is three-sided for this match.
