The match is on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December 2026, with an 8pm kick-off at St. James' Park in Newcastle. Although it falls on a Saturday, an evening start is outside the 3pm blackout; the broadcasters confirm the games they show live in the UK, so their listings will tell you where to find it.

An 8pm start on Boxing Day makes for a late night. Check Metro and train times for the holiday period before you travel.

How to get Newcastle v Manchester City tickets

Newcastle keep their home tickets for members of The Mags, Mags+ and Junior Mags, with no general sale. On 2 November the club's on-sale dates page listed this game, and it follows the pattern used for every match.

It starts with a members' ballot open for just 24 hours, from midday on Monday 23 November to midday on Tuesday 24 November, and your membership tier does not change your odds. Lead bookers drawn in the ballot hear before 11am on 25 November, then have 48 hours, until midday on 27 November, to choose seats in the area they applied for and pay. Season ticket holders' ticket forwarding and resale opens at 4pm on 27 November, and members still without a ticket get a final chance in the online Mags Member Sale from 10am on Monday 30 November, where the queue order is randomised.

Once the game is sold out, the Mags Member Ticket Exchange takes over: season ticket holders release seats they cannot use, and members buy them first come, first served, up to three hours before kick-off. The Newcastle Membership guide explains how to join.

If you have no membership, resale is the route. On Hellotickets each seller decides the price, which may be higher than face value, and the total shows before you pay.

  • Away supporters go in on the north sideManchester City fans use turnstiles 89-94, then climb 14 flights of stairs to Level 7 of the Leazes Stand, so leave plenty of time before kick-off.

Where to sit at St. James' Park

Two stands run along the touchlines. The Milburn Stand on the west side is the main stand, home to the directors' box, the Platinum Club and Bar 1892, with the Family Area on Level 7 (sections L7A-L7E). The East Stand opposite is the smallest of the four. Behind the goals, the Gallowgate Stand to the south is the traditional home end, with the Strawberry Corner safe-standing area where it meets the East Stand, while the Leazes Stand to the north houses Manchester City's supporters, very high up on Level 7 (L7F-L7M).

Hellotickets labels follow the same geometry. Shortside seats are behind a goal at either end, Longside seats face the pitch from a touchline, and a Central label, as in Longside Upper Tier Central, means close to the halfway line. Upper and Lower give the tier. The St. James' Park seating plan shows where each block sits.

Frequently asked questions

How much are Newcastle v Manchester City tickets?

Resale seats for the Boxing Day match start at £152 on Hellotickets, in the Shortside Upper Tier (checked 5 Nov 2026). Lower-tier touchline seats and the Central zone near halfway are listed higher, and every seller sets their own price. Newcastle members who get a ticket through the ballot or the Mags Member Sale pay the club's price, which is usually below resale.

Can I buy Newcastle v Manchester City tickets without being a member?

No, not directly. Newcastle United sell men's home tickets only to members of The Mags, Mags+ and Junior Mags, and there is no general sale for this or any other home game. If you are not a member, the alternative is the resale market, where the final price is shown before you pay.

Is Newcastle v Manchester City sold out?

At the latest official check (5 Nov 2026), the Boxing Day game was not on sale yet at the official seller. Tickets go first to a 24-hour members' ballot from midday on Monday 23 November, then to the Mags Member Sale from 10am on Monday 30 November. After a sell-out, members can still pick up returns on the Ticket Exchange until three hours before kick-off.

What time is kick-off for Newcastle v Manchester City?

Kick-off is at 8pm on Saturday 26 December 2026, Boxing Day, at St. James' Park. As with any Premier League fixture, broadcasters can still move the time, so check the club's website and your ticket in the days before travelling.

Where do Manchester City fans sit at St. James' Park?

In the away section on Level 7 of the Leazes Stand, behind the north goal: sections L7F-L7M, high in the upper tier. The away turnstiles, 89 to 94, are on the north side of the ground. Home fans buying resale should avoid listings in those sections.
