How to get FSV Mainz 05 v Borussia Dortmund tickets
Mainz sell their single-match tickets (Tageskarten) through the ticket shop on mainz05.de and through the Mainz 05 service centre. The club's rule is simple and predictable:
- Release window. Single-game sales for each home match start roughly four to five weeks before the matchday. For a game on 8 May, that points to early April 2027.
- Priority dates. The service centre's article on pre-sale dates lists each home game currently on sale, with a separate column for members, season-ticket holders and fan clubs, who get their turn first.
- General sale. After those priority dates, Mainz often put remaining single tickets on open sale, so a UK visitor without membership has a realistic chance.
On 21 October the list covered home games only up to 13 December 2026, so Dortmund is not there yet. The service centre offers a calendar subscription for its pre-sale dates, the easiest way to be told when the game is added.
Dortmund supporters should also follow their own club for away tickets; the Borussia Dortmund tickets page lists BVB's fixtures, and Bundesliga tickets covers the rest of the league.
If you need certainty earlier, resale is available on Hellotickets. Sellers set their own prices, which can be above face value, and the final price is shown before you pay. The club sale, when it comes, is usually the cheaper option.

- Hold off on fixed bookingsSaturday 8 May is provisional and the kick-off is TBC. Choose flexible travel and hotels until the Bundesliga confirms the slot.
- Resale tickets arrive close to the dateHellotickets sends tickets as soon as it receives them from the seller, sometimes up to 1–2 days before the event.
Where to sit at Opel Arena
The resale listings for this match are grouped by four stands named after the points of the compass, which makes the table easy to read:
- Osttribüne, the East Stand, where listings currently start.
- Südtribüne, the South Stand.
- Nordtribüne, the North Stand.
- Westtribüne, the West Stand, listed well above the other three.
We do not hold a sourced plan of the Opel Arena, so we cannot say which stands run along the touchlines and which sit behind the goals, where Mainz's home support gathers, or where the away section is. Rather than guess, check the block number on each listing against the stadium plan in the Mainz ticket shop.
Dortmund fans who want to be with the travelling support should wait for BVB's own away-ticket information rather than buy into a home stand.
