Athletic Club v Barcelona: date, kick-off and how to watch

Barcelona's La Liga trip to Bilbao is listed for Sunday 28 February 2027 at the Estadio San Mamés, matchday 26 on Athletic Club's calendar, with the date and time still "por determinar" (to be set).

Athletic's sale is not on sale yet at the official seller (checked 5 Nov 2026): only email alerts are open for general and VIP tickets, and the VIP sale for club members (socios) opens on Monday 22 February 2027 at 10.30am local time.

Resale seats listed on Hellotickets start at £314 in the Shortside (checked 5 Nov 2026).

Athletic does sell to the general public, after a short pre-sale for its Club Athletic community, so this is a fixture where the club route is realistic if you are ready on the day.

The reference date is Sunday 28 February 2027, at San Mamés in Bilbao. Athletic's fixture list gives matchday 26 with "fecha y hora por determinar": LaLiga confirms the exact day and kick-off about 3 to 4 weeks before, so expect the final slot in late January or early February.

The broadcaster is announced with that confirmation; we have not been given a channel and do not name one. Spain is one hour ahead of the UK.

How to get Athletic Club v Barcelona tickets

Athletic Club sells San Mamés tickets itself, online at athletic-club.eus and at the club ticket offices. For Barcelona, the sale will run in up to three strands.

Club Athletic pre-sale

Members of the supporter community Club Athletic can buy from 4 days before the general public, with a limit of 2 tickets each.

General sale

The club says online sales usually begin on the Monday three weeks before the match, at 10.30am. Until then the fixture page shows an "Avísame" button: sign up and Athletic emails you when general tickets are released. On 20 October only the next two home games, Getafe (25 October) and Real Sociedad (1 November), were on sale, so Barcelona is a long way off.

VIP

VIP seats are listed separately, sold through a OneBox platform. For this match the club has dated the VIP sale for its members (socios): it opens on Monday 22 February 2027 at 10.30am local time. Until then the VIP button is also at the alert stage.

If you want certainty now, seats listed on Hellotickets can be booked before the club sale. Sellers set their own prices, which can be above face value, and the final price is shown before you pay. A general sale that opens three weeks out is usually cheaper, so compare if you can wait. Barcelona's other fixtures are on our Barcelona tickets page, and the wider league on La Liga tickets.

Good to know before you go

Sign up with AvísameThe alert on the Barcelona fixture page sends an email when Athletic releases general tickets, usually on a Monday at 10.30am three weeks ahead.
Club Athletic gets four daysCommunity members buy 4 days before the public, two tickets each; that pre-sale is the main head start available.
Wait for LaLiga's slotThe Sunday is a reference date until LaLiga confirms it 3 to 4 weeks before; avoid non-refundable travel until then.
Read the zone nameFondo, Lateral, Alta and Baja tell you more about the view than the price bands do; check them before you pay.

Where to sit at Estadio San Mames

We have no verified stand guide for San Mamés, so this section works from the resale zones, which use Spanish stadium terms.

Fondo means behind a goal; Lateral means along a touchline.
Grada Alta is the upper tier, Grada Baja the lower tier.

So "Fondo Grada Alta" is the upper tier behind a goal, and "Lateral Grada Baja" the lower tier on the side. Hellotickets also uses English labels for this match: Shortside and Short Side (behind a goal), Longside, Long Side Upper and Long Side Lower (along the touchline). Category 1, Category 1 Silver and Category 2 are price bands, not places.

No designated visitors' area is listed on Hellotickets. Barcelona fans buying resale should ask the seller where the block is.
