At a glance

  • Alexandra Palace has no single plan: the Great Hall holds 10,250 standing, the West Hall 2,500, and the Theatre 850 seated or 1,000 standing.
  • The 2026/27 World Darts Championship is in the Great Hall for the first time, with Table seats on the floor and raised Tier seats.
  • Darts ballot prices started at £62 for Tier and £83 for Table. The ballot has closed, so only hospitality and resale remain.
  • The Masters snooker runs from 10 to 17 January 2027 in the West Hall, not the Great Hall.
  • The Great Hall and West Hall use the Palm Court entrance on the west side. The Theatre uses East Court on the east side.
Great Hall plan at Alexandra Palace
Stage12
  1. Arena floor: Table seats at the darts. A standing floor at most concerts.
  2. Tiered seating: At the darts only. Raised Tier seats with a view over the whole arena.

Simple plan, not to scale.

The Alexandra Palace seating plan depends on the room. The Great Hall is a standing floor for most concerts, with tables and tiered seats for the World Darts Championship. The Masters snooker uses the West Hall, and the Theatre has numbered stalls and a circle. Check the room on your ticket first.

The next events and their sale status are on the Alexandra Palace tickets page. Going to the darts? Start with the World Darts Championship tickets page instead.

How does the Alexandra Palace seating plan work?

The Alexandra Palace seating plan works room by room, because the building has no single layout. Alexandra Palace, known as Ally Pally, is a Victorian palace on a hill in north London, at Alexandra Palace Way, N22 7AY. It opened in 1873 and is run by a charity. It has several event spaces, not one purpose-built arena.

Space Layout Capacity Way in
Great Hall, concerts Standing floor, no numbered places 10,250 standing, 7,000 seated Palm Court, west side
Great Hall, darts Tables on the floor and tiered seats More than 5,000 a session Palm Court, west side
West Hall, including the snooker Standing or seated, depending on the event 2,500 Palm Court, west side
Theatre Seated stalls and circle, with some standing gigs 850 seated, 1,000 standing East Court, east side

Palm Court and East Court are on opposite sides of the building, so agree on the entrance as well as the time if you are meeting friends. The Ice Rink is separate, and steps lead up to its seats.

What is the Alexandra Palace darts seating plan?

The Alexandra Palace darts seating plan has two main ticket types: Table seats on the Great Hall floor and Tier seats in raised rows. The 2026/27 Paddy Power World Darts Championship runs from 11 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, and it is the first held in the Great Hall.

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), which runs the tournament, plans 36 sessions with more than 5,000 fans at each. The venue says 180,000 tickets are available, a record. A darts seating plan from an earlier year is therefore out of date.

Ticket Where you are Best for
Table At a table on the arena floor, with your group Groups who want to sit together all session
Tier Tiered seating with a view over the whole arena. The PDC promises wider seats, more legroom and cup holders Fans who want to follow every throw
501 Club The hospitality option, meaning a ticket with extras, sold separately by Pitch Experiences A work day out or a celebration

How much are World Darts Championship tickets at Alexandra Palace?

World Darts Championship tickets at Alexandra Palace started at £62 for a Tier seat and £83 for a Table seat in the ballot, booking fees included. A ballot is a free prize draw: you apply, and if you are picked you can buy. The PDC added £1.50 to each order.

Round Dates Tier, afternoon or evening Table
First round 11 to 19 December £62 or £67 £83
Second round 20 to 23 December £67 or £73 £87
Last 32 and Last 16 27 to 30 December £73 or £78 £93
Quarter-finals 1 January £78 or £83 £98
Semi-finals 2 January £93 £108
Final 3 January £103 £119

The ballot has closed, and the PDC says no tickets are being held back for a later general sale. Fans could apply for two sessions, with six tickets a session. So only resale and hospitality remain. Hospitality with Pitch Experiences starts at £399 for Silver, £599 for Gold and £699 for Platinum, per person before VAT, the tax added to the price.

What is the Alexandra Palace snooker seating plan?

The Alexandra Palace snooker seating plan is for the West Hall, not the Great Hall, because the Masters is held there. The Johnstone’s Paint Masters Snooker 2027 runs from 10 to 17 January 2027, with doors at 11.30am, and the venue says it draws more than 2,000 fans.

The venue’s event page shows no seat map, so look for one on the booking page. The Masters has been at Ally Pally since 2012, and it is an invitation event for the world’s top 16 players. All ages are welcome, but under-16s must be with an adult over 21.

What is the Alexandra Palace Theatre seating plan?

The Alexandra Palace Theatre seating plan has stalls, the seats at stage level, and a circle, the raised level above them, with 850 seats in all. It is the only room at Ally Pally with a conventional seat map. You enter through East Court, and the foyer is step-free.

Area Rows What it is like
Front stalls Front row to row K Level access from the foyer, and the closest seats to the stage
Back stalls Rows L to U Tiered, so each row is raised above the one in front
Raised Stalls Marked on the plan Booster seats cannot be used here
Circle Rows A to G Tiered, and split into circle left and circle right. A lift runs from the foyer to circle right. Otherwise it is 25 steps

The Theatre has no cloakroom, and hot food is not allowed inside. Latecomers are let in at a suitable break. Buggies stay out of the auditorium, but storage is provided. Selected shows offer a lounge upgrade, which needs stairs and a separate ticket.

Is the Great Hall at Alexandra Palace seated or standing?

The Great Hall at Alexandra Palace is standing for most concerts, and places are not numbered. A standing ticket is general admission, meaning your spot depends on when you get through the doors. A Great Hall seating plan matters only at seated events, when the hall takes 7,000. If your ticket shows no row or seat number, you are on the standing floor.

  • Finding room: the venue says there is usually more space on the far side, the right-hand side as you look at the stage, and more again at the back.
  • Doors: they open at 6.30pm for Courteeners and Enter Shikari, which are both 16+ shows. Age limits vary, so check your event page.
  • Before the show: gig nights open the Festival Village, with bars and street food. The Phoenix Bar and Pizzeria is next to Palm Court.
  • Effects: most concerts here use strobe lighting and haze.

Where are the best seats at Alexandra Palace?

The best seats at Alexandra Palace depend on the event: a Tier seat for following the darts, back stalls rows L to U for a Theatre play, and the circle for a big stage set. Follow these steps, then use the table:

  1. Find the room on your event page, because each room has its own layout.
  2. Open the seat map on the booking page for your date.
  3. Check the row or ticket type before you pay, using the table below.
Going to Best choice Why
The darts Tier for the view, Table for a group Tier looks over the whole arena, and a Table keeps your group together
A Great Hall concert The front if you arrive early, the right-hand side for space Places go in order of arrival
A Theatre play or seated gig Stalls rows L to U You stay close and see over the heads in front
Dance or a big set in the Theatre The circle You take in the whole stage

The venue publishes no guide to sound, so facing the stage is the simple rule. For photos from real seats, fans use A View From My Seat.

What accessible seats does Alexandra Palace have?

Alexandra Palace has an accessible viewing platform in the Great Hall and wheelchair spaces in the Theatre, and companion tickets are free at all events. Platform places are sold as accessible tickets, with one person at full price and one companion at no extra charge.

  • Great Hall platform: it stands stage right, the performers’ right-hand side, with chairs and wheelchair spaces. Collect your wristbands at the Visitor Services desk in Palm Court. Be on the platform at least 20 minutes before the headline act, or your place goes to the wait list.
  • Skipping the queue: with an accessible ticket, head to the far left as you face the Palm Court main entrance and follow the signs.
  • Theatre: there are four wheelchair spaces in the stalls and one in the circle, where seats D5 and D6 are kept for a wheelchair user and companion.
  • Darts: accessible tickets were part of the ballot, with one free carer ticket where needed.
  • Parking: Blue Badge holders park free, in the Grove car park for Great Hall concerts and East Court for the Theatre.
  • Hearing: hearing loops are at Visitor Services and box office points. Ask at least 6 weeks ahead for British Sign Language.
  • Other help: quiet spaces, ear defenders and sensory bags come from Visitor Services. So does access to the Changing Places toilet on the South Terrace, a large toilet with a hoist.

Bringing children to Alexandra Palace?

Age rules change by event, so read your event page first. In the Theatre, babes in arms under 18 months need no ticket at children’s shows, but they do at other shows. Booster seats are limited, so ask Visitor Services when you arrive.

How do you get to Alexandra Palace?

The easiest way to get to Alexandra Palace is the W3 bus, which stops right outside, because the Palace stands at the top of Alexandra Park. Every other route ends with a climb. The train and Tube take you close, then the hill or the bus does the rest.

Way to travel Details
Train Alexandra Palace station is at the Wood Green entrance to the park. Great Northern trains run from Moorgate via Highbury and Islington, and there are services to and from King’s Cross
Tube Wood Green on the Piccadilly line is the nearest, about 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus. The W3 passes through it
Bus The W3 runs from Finsbury Park and Tottenham to the Palm Court and Ice Rink stops
Car East Court and Grove car parks are paid, with the first 30 minutes free. At concerts, taxis use the East Car Park
  • Walking from the station? The venue publishes no walking time, so plan for an uphill walk through the park.
  • Need step-free travel? Use Finsbury Park, the closest step-free Tube and National Rail station, then the W3.
  • Travelling from outside London? Check your last train before you buy, because the W3 and the hill both add time.
  • Road closures: from 6 to 9 November, the Fireworks and Drone Festival closes the road, car parks and parts of the park, and changes bus routes.

What are the bag rules at Alexandra Palace?

The bag rule at Alexandra Palace concerts is one small bag per person, no bigger than 30cm x 20cm x 10cm. The venue would rather you brought no bag, and the rule applies to Great Hall concerts and standing Theatre gigs. Other events can differ, so check your event page.

  • Bigger bags: these go to the bag drop, and every bag is searched at the door. Most events also run a cloakroom while space lasts.
  • Your ticket: show your e-ticket on your phone. Some events use digital tickets only, in the seller’s app, so download it at home.
  • Paying: the venue is cashless, so bring a bank card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • Medical items: contact Visitor Services before the event if you need to bring medicine, food, drink or equipment.
  • Phone battery: you can rent a power bank in the Festival Village or the Phoenix.

What mistakes should you avoid at Alexandra Palace?

The most common mistakes at Alexandra Palace are going to the wrong entrance, trusting an old darts plan and leaving too little time for the hill. Three quick checks avoid them:

  • The room: the Masters is in the West Hall and the darts in the Great Hall, so check before you book a seat.
  • The door: Palm Court and East Court are far apart, so read your ticket before you set off.
  • The venue: Rizzle Kicks’ Thursday 19 November show has moved to O2 Academy Brixton.

If your night has gone, resale is what remains. For the darts, the official route is See Tickets Fan-to-Fan, where fans resell at face value plus no more than 12.5%. Frequently asked questions

Is it better to sit in the stalls or the circle at Alexandra Palace Theatre?

It depends on the show. The stalls get you nearest the performers, and rows L to U are tiered, so you look over the row in front. The circle, rows A to G, is better when you want the full stage picture, for dance or a big set. If stairs are a problem, only circle right has a lift.

Where are the best seats at Alexandra Palace Theatre?

For a play or a seated gig, the best seats at Alexandra Palace Theatre are stalls rows L to U, which are close to the stage and raised above the row in front. For dance or a show with a big set, choose the circle. The front stalls, up to row K, have level access from the foyer.

Where do you sit for the darts at Alexandra Palace?

At the 2026/27 World Darts Championship you sit in the Great Hall, at a table on the arena floor with a Table ticket, or in tiered seating with a Tier ticket. The 501 Club is the hospitality option. Your ticket type sets your area, so check it before you buy. Earlier darts plans are out of date.

Can I still get tickets for the darts at Alexandra Palace?

Yes, through two routes. The ballot closed in September 2026, and the PDC says no tickets are being held back for a general sale. Hospitality is still sold by Pitch Experiences, from £399 per person before VAT. The official resale route is the See Tickets Fan-to-Fan platform, at face value plus no more than 12.5%.

Where is the Masters snooker held at Alexandra Palace?

The Johnstone's Paint Masters Snooker is held in the West Hall at Alexandra Palace, not the Great Hall. The 2027 tournament runs from 10 to 17 January 2027, with doors at 11.30am. Enter through Palm Court on the west side. All ages are welcome, but under-16s must be with an adult over 21.

Is the Great Hall at Alexandra Palace seated or standing?

The Great Hall is standing for most concerts: the floor takes 10,250 people and places are not numbered, so arrive early for the front. Some events seat the hall, with 7,000 seats, and the World Darts Championship uses tables on the floor plus tiered seating. No row or seat number on your ticket means standing.

How long is the walk from Alexandra Palace station to the venue?

Alexandra Palace does not publish a walking time. The station is at the Wood Green entrance at the foot of the park and the Palace sits at the top, so plan for an uphill walk, and allow longer with children. If you would rather not climb, the W3 bus stops at Palm Court, by the Great Hall entrance.

Which station is nearest to Alexandra Palace?

Alexandra Palace station, on Great Northern services from Moorgate and King's Cross, is the closest, at the edge of the park. The nearest Tube is Wood Green on the Piccadilly line, linked to the Palace by the W3 bus. For a step-free trip the venue points to Finsbury Park, then the W3 to the door.

What size bag can I take into Alexandra Palace?

For live music in the Great Hall, you can bring one small bag per person, at most 30cm high, 20cm wide and 10cm deep. Bigger bags go to the bag drop, and every bag is searched. Standing gigs in the Theatre use the same small-bag rule, and the Theatre has no cloakroom, so leave large bags at home.

What's on at Alexandra Palace?

As listed on 31 October 2026, Alexandra Palace's next events are the Fireworks and Drone Festival on 7 and 8 November, then Courteeners, Enter Shikari and Blossoms later in November. The World Darts Championship starts on 11 December 2026, and the Masters snooker follows from 10 January 2027. Check each event page for sale status.
