The Kia Oval, in Kennington, has staged cricket since 1845 and is the home of Surrey County Cricket Club and of the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. The ground belongs to the Duchy of Cornwall and is leased to Surrey, and it has held 27,500 since the three-tier stand at the Pavilion End opened in 2021.
In 2027 it hosts the fifth and final Test of the men's Ashes, England v Australia, from Thursday 29 July to Monday 2 August. Surrey sell the tickets. Members who renew by 10 November 2026 buy first, with up to eight men's Test tickets each at a price set by membership category, and the free 2027 ticket ballot is open until 11.59pm on Sunday 15 November. Results follow on 23 November, the winners' window opens on 24 November, and what is left goes on general sale on Tuesday 8 December, subject to availability.
For the four days of the Test listed below, resale seats on Hellotickets are priced from £687 (checked 5 Nov 2026).
Next on the list: England v Australia - 5th Rothesay Ashes Test Match - 1 on Thursday 29 July.
Surrey's Ticket Exchange is the official resale platform and closes 24 hours before the start of play. When the members' window, the ballot or the general sale is open, the club route is usually the cheaper way in, and sellers on the open market set their own prices.

Kia Oval guide: stands, blocks and the way in
Seating plan and stands
Play runs between the Vauxhall End, in the north-west, and the Pavilion End, in the south-east. Around the boundary:
- Micky Stewart Members' Pavilion, at the Pavilion End: the members' pavilion, its seating divided into Terrace, Balcony, Shelf and Top.
- Bedser Stand, next to the Pavilion: a Lower section and an upper section split into Upper Open and Upper Covered.
- JM Finn Stand, at the Vauxhall End: blocks 1 to 20 on the club's seat map. The four-tier stand was completed in 2005, was called the OCS Stand until 2020 and gained wings in 2014; it holds the JM Finn Balcony, the Legends Lounge and the press box, and block 1 is alcohol-free.
- SSE Energy Solutions Stand: blocks 21 to 27, between the JM Finn Stand and the Pavilion. This three-tier stand opened in 2021 as the M.A.R. Galadari Stand and was renamed in 2025; the Laker Balcony, Lock Balcony and Peter May Garden sit beside it.
Two labels need care. "Tier 1" to "Tier 7" on the club's map are price categories, not levels of a stand. And older maps and resale listings may still call the SSE Energy Solutions Stand the Galadari Stand.
Hellotickets listings for the Ashes days give either a stand name, such as Galadari Stand, or a bare number. The number is the block, so 1 to 20 puts you in the JM Finn Stand and 21 to 27 in the SSE Energy Solutions Stand.
Once you are in, spectators are asked not to move around or leave their seats during an over. Look beyond the north-eastern wall and you will see the Victorian gasholder that is part of the view from the ground.
Getting there
There is no matchday parking at or near the ground, so plan on the Tube, a train or a bus to Kennington (London SE11):
- Northern line: Oval and Kennington stations are both a few minutes from the Pavilion End.
- Victoria line and rail: Vauxhall, served by the Victoria line and by South Western Railway trains to and from Waterloo, is a six-minute walk from the JM Finn Stand end.
- Bus: routes 36, 185 and 436 stop outside the ground, and the 3, 59, 109, 133, 159 and 333 stop within a five-minute walk.
On major match days the road between Oval station and the Harleyford Road/Durham Street junction closes to traffic for around 1-1.5 hours before and after play, and the nearest bus stops are suspended. At internationals the gates open two hours before the first ball. The Surridge Gate is the family entrance, and guests with the premium matchday hospitality that the club sells on its own hospitality site use the Sciver-Brunt Gate.
Tickets are held in the Kia Oval app, new for 2026, and their barcodes are activated no earlier than two weeks before the match. The ground is cashless, with card payments only. Bring one bag per person, no larger than 45 x 30 x 30 cm (18 x 12 x 12 in); bags are searched at entry, with random pat-downs when security is heightened. Your own food is welcome, but no alcohol may be brought in for a Test, and smoking is not allowed in the stands.
