  2. Eric Hollies Stand: Side-on party stand. Blocks 21 to 30, Gold. Over-18s only on major match days.

Simple plan, not to scale.

The Edgbaston seating plan has seven main stands around the pitch, with numbered blocks and five price bands for 2027. Sit in the Eric Hollies Stand for the party. Choose South Lower or the RES Wyatt Stand for the view straight down the pitch, or blocks 1 to 3 of the Dennis Amiss Stand for alcohol-free family seats.

Dates and sale status for every match are on the Edgbaston tickets page, and other grounds are on the cricket tickets page.

How does the Edgbaston seating plan work?

The Edgbaston seating plan groups seats into stands and numbered blocks, and your ticket adds the rest. Edgbaston Stadium is in Birmingham, postcode B5 7QU, and holds about 25,000 people. It is the home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club and of Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.

A stand is one section of seating around the ground, and a block is a numbered part of a stand. The two ends are the Pavilion End in the south and the Birmingham End in the north.

Two phrases matter when you choose. Behind the bowler’s arm means you sit at one end, looking straight down the pitch as the bowler does. Side-on means you sit along the side and look across the pitch.

Eric Hollies East side, side-on 21 to 30 Gold Groups of adults and fancy dress

South Lower Pavilion End, behind the bowler’s arm 31 to 36 Gold, blocks 33 and 34 are Platinum The view, and seats near the players

Premium blocks 14 and 15 sit between the RES Wyatt and Press Box Stands. The South Stand also holds the Tom Dollery Lounge on the first floor and The Terrace on the fourth floor.

How do you read the block numbers at Edgbaston?

Edgbaston block numbers run clockwise from the Dennis Amiss Stand. They start at block 1, pass the RES Wyatt and Press Box Stands, go along the Eric Hollies Stand and finish at the West Stand. The club’s 2027 map shows no block 8. The upper West Stand uses three-figure numbers, 240 to 242.

Is there an Edgbaston seating plan with seat numbers?

No: the club’s 2027 Edgbaston seating plan stops at block numbers, so it shows no rows or seat numbers. Your stand, or your block, row and seat where your match has them, appears on your ticket in the Edgbaston app. For a view of the ground, the club has a virtual tour on its website, and A View From My Seat collects fans’ photos.

Where is the best place to sit at Edgbaston?

The best place to sit at Edgbaston is the Eric Hollies Stand for atmosphere, South Lower for the view and the upper West Stand for value. It depends on the day you want:

  • Best for atmosphere: the Eric Hollies Stand, which the club calls the most famous stand in world cricket.
  • Best for the view: South Lower, at ground level behind the bowler’s arm. The club counts these among its best seats.
  • Best for a calmer day: the RES Wyatt Stand, a single tier under two rows of executive boxes, which the club aims at traditional cricket lovers.
  • Best for value: West Upper, which the club sells as great value, with panoramic views and the Birmingham skyline. Dennis Amiss blocks 1 to 5 are in the Bronze band.
  • Best for comfort: The Terrace, four floors up, with an allocated seat, a private bar, food and free drink vouchers.
  • First visit? A side-on seat shows you the whole ground. Sit behind the bowler’s arm if you want to follow every ball.

Want shade? The map does not show it, so read the page on shaded areas in Edgbaston’s Help Centre before you choose.

What is the Eric Hollies Stand like?

The Eric Hollies Stand is Edgbaston’s party stand, along the east side of the ground, and it is the part that gives the ground its name for atmosphere. It covers blocks 21 to 30, all in the Gold band for 2027.

Groups of friends and people in fancy dress fill it on the big days. On major match days it is for over-18s only, and the club sells only adult tickets there. So it is not an option with children.

Best for: a group of adults who want a party with their cricket. Not worth it if you want a quiet day watching every ball.

Where should families sit at Edgbaston?

Families at Edgbaston should look at the Dennis Amiss Stand, because blocks 1 to 3 are alcohol-free. The stand opens in 2027 on the site of the old Priory and Raglan Stands, opposite the Hollies and in front of the new Radisson RED hotel. It is side-on, with a brand-new concourse, the walkway behind the seats, and food and drink close by.

  • Alcohol-free blocks: no alcohol can be drunk there, and stewards check.
  • Buggies: not allowed at international matches or Vitality Blast Finals Day, so plan on a sling or carrier.
  • Quiet spaces: sensory rooms, for children and adults with sensory processing needs, are in the South Stand and at the Birmingham End.
  • Prayer: a multifaith room is on the first floor of the South Stand, next to the 501 Lounge.

How much are seats at Edgbaston in 2027?

Seats at Edgbaston in 2027 cost £25 for adults on day five of the Ashes Test, the famous series between England and Australia. Each major match has its own price. Edgbaston’s price page lists the under-16 price for each one, and every ticket carries a £2.50 booking fee.

Match Date Under-16s
Men’s Ashes Test, days one to four Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 July 2027 £35
Men’s Ashes Test, day five Monday 12 July 2027 £5, with adults at £25 in any stand

Women’s Ashes one-day international Tuesday 20 July 2027 £5
Men’s one-day international v New Zealand Tuesday 14 September 2027 £20

Adult prices for other days depend on your band, from Bronze up to Premium, so check the price when you buy. The club says prices may change.

Can you choose your own seat at Edgbaston?

You can choose your own seat at some Edgbaston matches. At Vitality Blast games, the short evening format, your ticket shows your stand and seating is unreserved, so you take any free seat in that stand.

The Terrace comes with an allocated seat, which means one set seat is yours. If you buy for a group, the lead booker, the person who placed the order, sees all the tickets and can share them through the Edgbaston app. To get the seat you want, follow these steps:

  1. Decide what matters most: noise, view, value or a family day.
  2. Find that stand and block on the club’s 2027 map.
  3. Check the rules for your match, such as the Hollies age limit and whether seats are reserved.
  4. Buy through tickets.edgbaston.com, and pick your stand or ticket type.
  5. Open the free Edgbaston app and check your ticket before you travel.

What accessible seating does Edgbaston have?

Edgbaston has wheelchair user seating in the West Upper, South Lower and Eric Hollies stands. There is also seating on the Skyline Terrace and in Members areas, including the Tom Dollery Lounge. Contact the Membership and Ticket Office before you book, on 0121 369 1994 or at tickets@edgbaston.com.

  • Proof: the club may ask for proof of eligibility, and says a Blue Badge alone is not accepted.
  • A free helper: wheelchair users get a free ticket for an assistant at domestic and international matches.
  • Entry: there are no traditional turnstiles. Stewards scan tickets and search bags in open spaces.
  • Parking: Blue Badge spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.
  • Commentary: free radios for blind and visually impaired fans are at the Edgbaston Shop at international matches.

How do you get to Edgbaston, and what can you bring?

The easiest way to get to Edgbaston is by train to Birmingham New Street, then the 501 shuttle bus on selected major match days. Allow extra time, because roads may close on big days.

How From Worth knowing
501 shuttle bus Smallbrook Queensway, near New Street station Selected major fixtures, from up to two hours before play. £6 for adults and £4.50 for children
Train Moseley Village station Around a 15 to 20-minute walk
Car Book at parkthecar.com Limited, and must be booked for major matches, the Vitality Blast and The Hundred
Bike Birmingham’s cycle network Cycle parking on site, and a matchday Lime Bike hub

Travelling from outside Birmingham? New Street has regular trains from across the country, and return shuttle buses leave from the Indoor School after close of play. Driving? The ground is outside Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone, but some routes pass through it. Cars in the North Car Park are normally held for about 20 to 30 minutes after a match.

  • Your ticket: it is held in the free Edgbaston app, so have it ready before you arrive.
  • Food and drink: you can bring your own food. You cannot bring alcohol to international matches, the Vitality Blast, Finals Day or The Hundred, and cans and glass bottles are not allowed.
  • Bags: every bag is searched, and the club asks you to avoid bringing one.
  • Paying: bars and food outlets take cards only. Only the Edgbaston Superstore takes cash.

What are the most common seat mistakes at Edgbaston?

The most common mistakes at Edgbaston are booking the Hollies with children, driving without a booked space and bringing a buggy to a big match. Avoid them like this:

  • Booking the Hollies for a family. It is for over-18s only on major match days. Choose Dennis Amiss blocks 1 to 3.
  • Driving on spec. Book your space first, or take the train.
  • Bringing a buggy. It will not get in at international matches or Finals Day.
  • Bringing alcohol. Unlike Lord’s, Edgbaston does not allow your own for international matches. The Lord’s seating plan guide explains the rules there.
  • Forgetting the sun. The map does not show shade, so check the Help Centre before you choose.

West Upper is the club's value pick.

The club's 2027 map shows stands, block numbers and price bands, but no rows or seat numbers. Blocks run from 1 in the Dennis Amiss Stand round to 242 in West Upper. Your stand, or your exact seat where the match has them, appears on your ticket in the Edgbaston app.
